This amazing flip-open A-frame cabana in Brazil looks like it was built using Deek Diedrickson’s $1,200 a-frame plans, and the results are amazing.

What I particularly love is that this little vacation cabana includes a bathroom, and has a two-tier deck overlooking a little natural paradise. They even included a Murphy bed so you can enjoy the interior space when not asleep.

Cook, wash up and relax! Even if you never make it to Brazil, you could definitely DIY something like this in your backyard.

Did you see the historically-accurate Viking hut we featured earlier this week? When I came across this Mayan Coba Hut in Tulum, Mexico, it was remarkable to me to see the similarities in the building style — the thatch roof, the a-frame design — just goes to show you that great tiny building transcends time, geography and cultures!

This hut in the jungle is an awesome vacation spot, where you can sleep in a queen bed while listening to nature sounds all around. There’s an outdoor bathroom area walled in by trees, including a magical shower. The hut is run 100% on solar power, and there’s even WiFi!

I’ve seen a lot of A-frames with a classic cabin feel or even a Nordic overhaul, but this gorgeous A-frame renovation is filled with mid-century modern charm and a totally unique loft set-up.

When you walk in you’ll find yourself in the large open living area, complete with a white fireplace and modern sectional sofa. It blends effortlessly into the kitchen, where you’ll find charcoal grey cabinets with a subway tile backsplash. There’s also a bedroom and full bathroom on the first floor.

The loft is something completely new, with a closed-off living space that doubles as a second bedroom, and a queen bedroom in the apex of the A-frame closed off with barn doors. There’s also another full bathroom. Love the decor? Jennifer, who renovated the a-frame with her partner, compiled a list with links here. Book your stay in this fantastic spot on Airbnb.

This traditional 70s A-Frame cottage in Huntsville, Ontario got a modern makeover and has become a stylish woodland getaway. While there’s plenty of that old school A-frame charm inside, the bright while walls, modern appliances, and new furniture make it a luxury couple’s getaway.

Off the front of the cottage is a large deck, complete with outdoor seating and a grill. Inside the lower floor has an open-concept feel with a sectional sofa, dining table, and newly-renovated kitchen. The bathroom has an old-fashioned clawfoot tub with a shower adaption, and upstairs the Master bed looks out of gorgeous windows to the swaying treetops.
