What does his age have to do with it? Why is it even mentioned? Are septuagenarians considered too old to be designing a home or anything else?

Couldn’t have said it better Barbara! It’s an excellent THOW and very well thought out. I sure wish this, and other tiny house sites, would include more original ideas like Pete’s. Instead, they all usually repost each other’s content.

Pete: your design is the most logical, convient, and spacesaving of all i have seen. This 75yo woman plans to plagiarize your work to use as a guide while builing on my 3acres.
    Bless you, gypsy

I really like the way the roof peaks across the width instead of down the length. Nicely proportioned.

I like the roof line and the non-lofted bed. Of course, you lose some ‘living space’, but your house should be built to fit your needs, not mine. Under 144 sqft is my goal and this is a creative way to meet it.

3d time I’ve seen this here. Still best I’ve seen here. And no damn loft either.

Great job, Pete! And I think noting your age is a compliment. I, too, am in my 70s and find that too many people still think that septuagenarians are over the hill as far as creativity and physical ability are concerned. So you proved them wrong and accomplished something beautiful and functional. Great job!

    @ Barbara and Rockie

What’s with the criticism? Truly! There’ve been articles on here about 13, 14, 15 year olds building tiny homes too. Nobody criticised because their ages were mentioned.

Maybe you should both just chill out a little. Sheeeeesh!

I agree with Eric: sheeeeeesh! I have been thinking at 68 to have a tiny home built for me. Would love to build it myself but don’t know if I could. I find this article encouraging.
Brings me closer to my goal.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Not one thing I’d change here. Nice curb appeal as well. I’ll give this a two thumbs up!
