This 600 sq. ft. ‘Bearadise’ Tiny Cabin is a guest post by Karen

I own a beautiful “tiny” cabin, about 600 sq. ft. that is located about 3200 feet above sea level on Phoenix mountain in Warrensville, NC. We’re located on the North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee border about 10 minutes from downtown West Jefferson and 25 minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock.

It started as a small, one room hunting cabin and the person that purchased it before us added a downstairs bedroom and bathroom and a loft. Our water supply is a fresh water spring with a 1400 gallon reserve.

We purchased it for our own private vacation home 8 years ago, but decided to start renting it out about 7 years ago and it has been wildly popular! We book it almost every single day!

The cabin has beautiful mountain and pond views off the deck and is a 3 minute walk to The New River. We are 10 to 45 minutes from all of the local attractions, restaurants, ski slopes, art galleries, shopping, Blueridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, App. State, Boone, Blowing Rock and much, much more!

Really lovely, as is that area. I would lower the toilet lid for advertising photos, however 🙂

Ha. I didn’t even notice toilet lid up – that’s how busy my eyes were looking at all the wonderfulness.

Hit the wrong thing (report comment) – sorry! Raised toilet lids are just a pet peeve of mine. As you noted, this is SO great, the one thing is unimportant, but the perfection makes the tiny detail glaring . . .but probably just to me. In MY tiny house, there are so many imperfections, none of them stands out. Haha

No, it isn’t just you. It hit me too. Also the lid cover. Haven’t seen one of those in a long time. 🙂 I can see why this cabin is to popular.

I love the look of the cabin, inside and out. I’m always looking from the perspective of actually living in the place full time, so this one had me scratching my head with questions like, “Where would I put my broom?” “Where would all my clothes go?” “What about my backpack and my winter boots and food?” I think it’s great as a holiday cabin, but not as a full-time residence.
I do think the hammock in the snow is pretty cute, though. 😉

I loved it, however I would loved to have seen a better picture, or two of the kitchen.

Thank you for sharing this one.

This is a design I could easily live in. The addition of shelving/cupboards that blend in with the walls would provide storage space for food and whatever else. Cutting way down on my stuff would be imperative. I’m going to do that anyway… .

    Beautiful!

Warm, snug and cozy! Very charming small house but I would have
loved to see more! Like where is there storage, etc. Either way —
a winner and one in a very nice setting!!!

After looking at so many “real” tiny houses, all I see in this one is “look at all the wasted space” that could be multi-purposed.

The rustic look suits the location. It does seem very peaceful.

I’m building my tiny house this year. I’ve been researching many different styles & floor plans…this by far is one of my favorites! I’ve decided to go with the cabin look, sometimes I run into problems being able to get the info I need about the floor plans etc. Any input would be most welcomed and very appreciated! Your tiny cabin is awesome! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I would absolutely live in a cabin like this, only I would build it out here in our Colorado mountains. I love everything about it—the interior coziness, the hot tub on the deck, the outdoor firepit—everything. I do agree with CathyAnn, though, that the addition of some storage shelves in the nooks and crannies could help, but there are so many creative ways to do that today, that I think it would be easy to add. All-in-all, Alex, I love this house. It is my favorite, plus, we are a big teddy bear couple—we love anything bear. Thanks for bringing this one.

Beautiful Cabin!! Might consider of vacation there but need info:
    – Sleeping capacity?
-Weekly or partial weekly rental available?
-How far in advance do you need notice?
    -And of course, Cost?
I’d love info on it!! It is just a great setting!!

It would be so helpful if along with the pictures you would include a floor plan. That would help everyone with their ideas.
