Bridgett’s life didn’t go to plan, but she found happiness and freedom in her budget campervan. One of my favorite sayings is “If you want to make god laugh, tell him your plans”. Like many nomads on the road, you learn you can’t choose what happens to you, but you can choose how you react.

I salute you! Most every woman I know, while talking a good game, would not have the courage to live your life. Most seem held back by the fear of “what would people think of me if I do this”. Am curious though, from the appearance of the now-wielded shut side door, what about insulation? Can obviously get real hot or cold in a metal box. That exhaust fan can only do so much, I should think.

Hi Bridgett, all I can say, is that you have all my admiration, you are living what I have dreamed about all of my life. Once I bought a 1988 Roadtrek, renovated it for my taste and that was it! Left it parked and sold it some years later. Please enjoy the moment and be careful all the time.
Two things that keep me from living the nomad, mobile lifestyle: health issues and lack of steady, meaningful income. I daydream of how things might be every time I watch a YouTube video by others who live the nomadic, mobile lifestyle.
It’s very tricky to find work that works with a nomadic lifestyle for sure.
Robin Barrett has recently written a book called “Work From Home While You Roam” specifically for finding work that can be done remotely. Now with Covid, many companies have allowed people to work remotely. The author has lived on the toad for about 3 years now.
My own sister is now a nomad though she wasn’t fond of camping back in the day. She and her hubby work at RV parks for some pay and a free place to park (they are in a travel trailer and many parks will not allow vans) but they’ve been nomads for almost a year and live it.
I think the old adage comes into play here: where there’s a will, there’s a way.
It takes courage but many have jumped in with both feet.
I think one of the silver linings of COVID will be more flexibility with work-from-home for the long term. I was lucky enough to have a remote job before it was “popular,” which allowed us to move all over before settling down, but I think more and more office jobs will be able to done remotely. Obviously, you can’t be a remote store clerk or nurse (although there is telehealth….), but depending on your field, there might be more opportunities coming our way!

You go girl! Been there, done that (divorce). Not easy, but not impossible either. Your life is your own now, so enjoy, learn, grow, love, laugh. . .repeat. Keep you family and friends close, and don’t forget your God. Best of adventures to ya’!
