Way easy way too much money. Seems like people think tiny= money ! I’ve built many things, and I know that it doesn’t cost anywhere near 50,000 to build something like this. Not even close ! And no way possible is it worth $99,000 unless it has 20 acres of scenic level land with it !

According to the Zillow listing, the lot size is a little over 10000 square feet – that makes it about a quarter of an acre.

Actually it looks very well made and roomier than I expected. If the dirt is good u can make a great garden in that space. In my area the price would b out of line but maybe up there? Who knows.

Land cost is probably nearly half the price. Very nice “real” cabin. Like the size and the setting. And the kitchen, but I would add more upper cupboards. I assume there’s a shower.

That’s an outrageous price for such a small amount of space. Is it located on a beachfront or lakefront? What warrants that much money? I love the house itself, but I am shocked at that price tag. It must be the outbuildings, right? Or the woodstove? (I live in Florida, so just give me a minisplit, please.) Oh, I see. It’s Washington. That explains the teeth-grinding cost.

I find it rather silly to be calling a cottage of almost 600 square feet, a tiny cabin. There have been cottages and cabins this size as a norm for 100’s of years. The tiny house movement is very different from this.

I can agree a lot with what you’re saying but just a reminder that tiny can be relative. For example a family or couple going from 2000 sq ft down to 600 sq ft might feel they have the right to call their new home tiny.

This is a large one bedroom cabin in brand new condition located on an incredibly beautiful site on the east side of the Olympic Peninsula, that is, the non-rainy side. While the cabin looks like it is not right on the water, Hoodsport is located on Hood Canal. It is possible to drive to Seattle, spend a day there, and drive home, all in the same day. Seattle is the home of Microsoft, and housing in not inexpensive anywhere within driving distance. This would be a wonderful place to live – isolated, yet within everything a large city, or four, (Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Portland), has to offer. The winters will be mild, yet skiing will be within reach. Hiking, climbing, camping, biking, kayaking, all possible, all year. A play, ballet or opera is within easy reach. If you cut down a tree or two, you could grow your own vegetables. $99,000 is a reasonable price for this. The lifestyle it buys is beyond compare.
