5 Day Hands On Tiny House Build Workshop

A 5-day hands-on tiny house build workshop has just been announced for July 1-5, 2015 in Ogilvie, Minnesota.

It will be held at The Sanctuary Minnesota. Participants will get to spend the entire week with Jay Shafer, B.A. Norrgard, Daniel Bell, and Mark Fallin.

Mornings will begin with on-site yoga and a continental breakfast. Attendants will break up into groups to help build the framing for Jay Shafer’s new tiny house design.

In between building you would also have classroom presentations to learn from if you decide to go. Also, B.A.’s Gifford tiny house on wheels will be on site for tours.

Please understand me, I’m not trying to decry this event, but it confuses me. I get it that we’ll get a lot of time with 4 of the major people in the tiny homes movement, and learn a lot about tiny home living in general, but why should we pay $1000+ and fly out there on our time and money to help him build his house? Could somebody please explain this to me?

      Hello Ryan,

Thank you for writing. Many people are visual and tactile learners who learn best by seeing and doing. That is what this workshop offers, in addition to the enriching experience of being immersed in a tiny house environment. My first tiny house workshop was a hands-on build workshop, and it quite literally changed my outlook on life, and that’ why I am offering that experience to others. It isn’t for everyone, and I certainly understand that. If you have any additional questions, you may reach me at my email above. Best to you, BA

I personally think $1000 for a 5 day workshop with hands-on activities with this group of experts is a bargain. I will go if I can swing the airfare and lodging and I’ll be coming from Florida!

Too expensive. Just want to learn.
