This is the 40ft High Cube Shipping Container Tiny House with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. The dimensions are 40ft x 8ft x 9.5ft and hooks up to city utilities for water, power, and sewer shared with us today thanks to Brian Hawkins @tinyhousemovement on Instagram.
It sold for $69,000, ships worldwide, and is built from a brand new container instead of a refurbished one. There are steel studs in the walls for the interior framing, too, for example. This one is headed to East Zion Experiences to be used as a rental near the Zion National Park in Utah. What do you think? Learn more below.

Wouldn’t it get real noisy in the rain?
Now that’s a noise I could listen to all night…
There’s a considerable difference between noise and real noisy. I certainly wasn’t referring to the pitter patter of light rain at all.
Nor was I, I love sleeping or just being indoors during a rainstorm…the louder the better; thunder and lightning too. I find it soothing. It’s a noise I could listen to all night.
Ha ha, you could get a part in a real life Rocky Horror show. rotflmao.
I believe one cannot ship a container if it has windows and doors in it.
Can someone from tinyhousetalk PLEASE answer us abt. whom to contact re: buying this, and if a shipping container can be shipped with doors and windows? Your silence is very surprising, and disappointing.
@Mary Barber, as the date of post is noted in February 2020, there may be no need for your disappointment as perhaps during the past months you had time to refer to both start? And ending of article where both links, & name (Brian Hawkings) & HIS Instagram link were included, again? Start & ending your requests are present. But as date of your two inquiring posts are before lockdown? Things were a bit off putting during so perhaps skipping over the information requested w/o notice could be from the anxiety related to virus issues. Hoping things are calmer for now? And thank you Alex for such an informative article!
If there is insulation under the roof the noise from rain would be greatly reduced. I too love the sound of rain on a tin roof but I think a thick steel roof would be more “solid” and not be as noisy. Add insulation and it’s reduced further.
