Brick, I love it! Wow what a great concept for the kitchen. And you could use a murphy bed allowing for more space for entertaining or you could use the bed design we saw the other day that had a closet underneath the bed. Wonderful that the bathroom is at the back of the house.
This one got my creative juices flowing, thanks Alex!

Exactly. Best idea yet. Saving this plan with Murphy bed. Love the hidden kitchen.

I realize Iā€™m 4 years behind the times posting on this particular tiny house but I think I may be the only person that absolutely abhors this design. I read all positive comments, people totally in love with the design. I couldnā€™t finish looking at the pictures fast enough. This is definitely not for me but thatā€™s what makes the world go round- weā€™re all unique individuals and have our own likes and dislikes! Glad some people loved it- hopefully it kept this company in business since this originally came out.

The material is stone, not brick. The design is excellent, bathroom is perfect, kitchen is ok, closet small, living area is not large but can be whatever one wants. Comfortable. I would love this.

Why do you try to correct somebody like that ? We all know the diff with out all that . But since you did my question is do you realy know that is stone or is it want to be stone ( fake)

My money is on real stone. Check the corners carefully.

Randy, look at it. brick and faux stone look different. This looks like stone to me. I was not correcting a person, only an idea. When I posted my comment no one else had commented. Why are you wanting to argue with me rather than enjoying a beautifully designed dwelling? This architectural firm has gorgeous things on their web site.

What is the rosy red “knot” near the black chair and ottoman? A floor cushion? How does one use it?

    • Deadrock
      November 11, 2015, 11:04 am

I noticed that thing too. It looks like it’s hugging itself. And I’m not convinced it was being moved for these staged photos…I’d bet it’s moving all by itself… šŸ˜ I shall name it “Knotty.”

So, Eric. An Italian bean bag chair, modified. To pinch bottoms?
Deadrock named the chair Knotty. Naughty Knotty?

I really like the ability to put everything out of sight. Love the bathroom and the light from the windows. This definitely in spires more ideas.

Old Bricks or Stone the home is stunning and what a great use of space. I’m with you Nancy, that special bed we saw the other day would be perfect in there ! With that ocean view, I could live there no problem, just need a hammock and tab le & chairs outside to relax and drink my morning coffee =)

We may b***h about our country’s rules and regulations but those floating steps outside look waaay dangerous. What a beautiful piece of property. I could live there in a tent! But I may need a few more than three, black, artistically placed tops:)) Would make a great writers cabin or to just unwind and destress. Ahhh the sound of the ocean……

I love love love this. They should mass produce these and ship them to the US! Is there any way to get plans? I went to their website – unfortunately my Italian is limited to pizza and pasta

Very nice and I agree with Nancy and Sondra, this would be the perfect place for that closet under the bed we saw the other day. That would add a ton of storage space which is the only thing really lacking.
Is that the heat source we can see peaking out in the side of some of the interior pics? It looks like it from the one pic from outside but it is hard to tell.
    I love that hidden kitchen.

    • eric
      November 12, 2015, 3:39 am

Yes that is a heat source. Most likely an enclosed gas fireplace, although possibly (but unlikely) and alcohol burning fireplace.

Wow! I was not expecting the kitchen to emerge as it did, complete with splash back! Bathroom looks fine. I thought the bed might fold back, but realised the shelves are too low. A Murphy bed or a clic-clac sofa would create more room for whatever you want to put there. I agree, the floating stairs look dangerous, but there’s a handy tree to hand on to if you stumble and fall!

Very clever use of space welcoming in the view and sunlight. The disappearing kitchen is awesome and dirty dishes can be quickly hid in the event you have sudden company.

One word of warning for anyone building a tiny home: Never, never, put bookshelves on the wall above a bed. In a freak situation, the studs or screws can give way and that whole shelf with all the books will come toppling down and it may be when you are sleeping underneath. This can kill.

Especially so if one lives in earthquake territory.

  • Chel
    November 14, 2015, 9:06 am

Great planning and use of space.
I would personalise it as I don’t like to go minimalist – hide the essential gubbins, but keep the books on display.
Some comments about the bed miss that there are already drawers under the bed above; and that the house is an L-shaped box to fit against the slope leaving no space for underfloor storage at the upper level.
Allow extra visitors to sit and sprawl on the bed as in a bedsit.
Some extra low level storage could probably be incorporated at the edge of the upper level where the splash back rests. Cushions on that would add extra seating and it would prevent walking off the edge.

I like this! How does the kitchen back splash fold down with the long necked faucet?

New and fascinating look at using space. I admire the way the home fits into the rugged hillside. The magnificent views are inspirational.

Those are cantilevered stairs of what may be steal reinforced concrete. Some designs pass load tests of over 770 lbs on a 4 x 32 cantilevered step, which is what these might be. The rise without a vertical barrier seems too much to be safe, and there’s no railing on either the wall or fall side. So it seems structurally sound, but there are hazards, and did I mention it is beautiful.

Love it …! But is it affordable, I mean is it a via able tiny house for the new home owner or someone trying to get out from under the bills…?

    • Elle
      January 14, 2017, 12:56 pm

Just guessing, but no. It’s not affordable. It’s a thing of beauty but even the foundation is expensive.

  • Karin
    January 15, 2017, 10:10 pm

Stunning ! And the stonework is incredible, now all I need is an airplane ticket and to build some garden space…well and to leave to make wine.

  • jm
    January 16, 2017, 7:49 am

Killed by Shakespeare! No, if it was affordable I’d be moving for that view. But that foundation, stone exterior, floating steps,…my guess is 3 to 4 hundred thousand euros.

If brick or stone was man made there would be consistency and there is non. I’ve looked really hard t find something and there is very few that might show some sine. Did anyone notice the concrete slab is off the ground? Most likely a pedestal holding the center starting a few feet in. How about the concrete stairs that protrude out of the stone wall. I think the engineering design is absolutely beautiful.
