34.5-Foot Affordable Tiny House w/ Up To TWO Main Floor Bedrooms – $39,500

This post contains affiliate links.

This is an affordable tiny house with a main floor bedroom called the Dragonfly tiny house. It’s a 34.5-foot tiny home built on a trailer by Core Housing Solutions (UPDATE: This company has gone out of business). It’s built with structurally insulated panels which give you great insulation, a strong build, and lighter overall weight.

This tiny house is designed to be as maintenance-free as possible. So the exterior doesn’t need to be constantly maintained, recaulked, or even repainted because it’s a chemically bonded steel skin with a powder-coated finish so you’re good to go! If you want low-cost and low-maintenance, this seems like the way to go. Another really cool feature about this unit is that the house itself is designed to be removable from the trailer just in case your local laws require your tiny house to be on a more permanent foundation.

I really like the design of this home. Although, I would have like seeing the whole kitchen and table area, viewed from the couch. I would have reversed the fridge door to open from the kitchen area rather than from the living room side. More times than not, you’ll be getting in there from the kitchen, specially while cooking.

Also, I would reverse the door on the bathroom sink to open from the toilet side, rather than from the kitchen side. How many times have you run out of t.p. and had to reach under the bathroom sink to get another roll? It happens, haha. You’ll probably never be getting into it while in the kitchen. Just a thought to consider. : )

Love how the living room room is set up! And there’s room to add maybe another chair or piece of furniture (for storage) across from the front door, as well as storage cabinets or shelves all along the wall above the door and table, etc.
    Thanks.

A huge THOW for a great price.
Likes, Living room, windows and a real dining table, bathroom,
Dislikes, walk in Bedroom, kitchen, roof shape.
Bedroom, sleeping on window level isn’t my thing, walk in is waist storage space.
Kitchen can be optimized and lacks of windows for day light cooking.
Add an awning und you have a great place to live.
    Well done.

The units are a little plain looking, but extremely well thought out and affordable as an extra living space or if you have additional storage options on your site or property. I’d have to see it in person to evaluate actual practicality, but it looks promising! Not thrilled with the external electrical or the window A/C visually, but it makes perfect sense for cost and flexibility so I I guess it depends on what your end game is. Overall, one of the best I have seen and won’t put you in the poor house from the get go!

That’s a pretty nice tiny house. The closet bed is great. I’ll need one of those. The only thing it’s missing is a laundry & tub. I will need both in my tiny. But what I really want to comment on is what is wrong with the words in the video. I like it when theres videos, to get a better perspective. But the words on the video are so off, so wrong, it makes it hard to watch. The sound is clear enough, get rid of the horrible words!

I appreciate the weight information and wish all tiny houses listed a dry weight and a maximum weight in order to correctly determine cargo capacity. All rvs do. A weight of 7,300 lbs. Is light at 36.5 feet long compared to an rv of equal length. These numbers are important in determining which tow vehicle to buy. Another factor favoring a tiny home is your ability to insulate, even install heated floors, for a cold climate. There are rvs that are built for cold climates, like Arctic Fox, and some which can be custom built, but they are very expensive. I’m not at all against rvs; I’ve subscribed to Trailer Life for many years. But these factors need to be considered when making a decision to purchase.

I love this tiny home. It would totally work for me, I’m handicapped and can’t do stairs.

I’m with you on this. I am getting older and can no longer do stairs, and would much prefer a single story/floor abode. Of course that means less floor space so one has to either be comfortable with that or be really creative.

it’s a nice plan but up here in the north I’d have to have more insulation.

This in 10′ wide, bath, kitchen at 1 end and open plan would be killer

Do you mean that in a good way or a bad way?

In a vary good way. 8′ restricts options greatly while 12′ wide wastes space but 10′ wide you have enough room for separate functions on each side and you can use standard furniture.
I’ve lived in 6′,8′,10′ and 12′ wide and 10′ is the best size and at 16′ length gives me everything I need and still have 6′ of wall for something.
I also found 2′ wide lofts length wise can hold a heck of a lot of stuff yet still easy to get to.

Hmmm. For the cost, it’s an amazing design, and all on one floor. It has lots of storage and a workable kitchen and bathroom. A little on the stark side, but one’s decorations and personal touches can take care of that. It’s a pretty solid deal on a pretty house. The walk-in closet under the bed is ingeneous : )
