28-ft. Tiny House with U-shaped Kitchen

This post contains affiliate links.

What do you think is the perfect kitchen layout? In tiny spaces, I’m partial to the U-shaped kitchen that allows for an easy workflow, like you’ll see in the Lancaster model from Liberation Tiny Homes. The huge picture window over the sink lets you dream of being outdoors while washing dishes, and there’s enough room for a good-sized oven and refrigerator.

This model features two lofts — one over the kitchen accessible via storage stairs, and the other over the bathroom, which you get to using metal piping handholds. If you’re someone who prefers the kitchen and bathroom on opposite sides of the house, you’ll like this layout!

From here, you can see stools tucked under the counter on the left.

The bathroom and secondary loft.

The metal rungs take you up to the loft.

I’m a firm believer that Navy Blue is always in style.

Deep basin sink for easy dishwashing.

Open-shelving in the corner.

Do you need an oven in your kitchen?

It looks like you could use the second loft as an office.

There’s even space for a tub in this THOW.

Vanity and, of course, you can add a mirror.

Flush toilet and a closet.

The couch houses more storage.

In the bedroom loft you’ll find a skylight.

What a handsome front door!

I love the kitchen. In fact the kitchen in my tiny house is being done the exact sme way and my cabinets will be the exact blue. .The only difference is all my hardware will be bronze with a copper farm sink.. I love all you have done in your tiny house.

I love this basic model…and the navy. I could live here with just a few edits, but the layout works really well for me as a cook and a reader ; ) If you add 4 inches of foam to the sofa, it might be comfy. Love the little cabinet as you walk in, and I can’t live without a bathtub..I know we see many spiffy tile options in tiny, but for some who uses the tub twice a day this looks really useful and easy to clean. I love some of the funky tubs..the hidden stock tanks, etc. but can’t imagine laying on the floor trying to scrub those tubs ; )

Could always get one of those power scrubbers with the staff extension so you can do it standing or use a pressure washer…

U-shaped kitchens are great, they provide plenty of counter space and allow a decent workflow when cooking without running around a lot. The couch is great for storage but I would prefer lounge chairs.
Lofts aren’t my thing for the FL climate. Otherwise well done.

Wish I could afford it. And, yeah, I know there are plenty of people that can. Lovely set up

    Gorgeous.
BUT…why do these companies put skylights in bedrooms? NOOOO. Do they not realize people sleep in there and many sleep hours that aren’t nightfall til dawn…such as second and third shift workers, especially creative nocturnal types who would live in a THOW?

Custom, so it’s there because the client wanted it there… Some people just like to look up into the sky, especially at night and watch the stars and may wake up early or they just put in a black out shade when they want to sleep in…

While there’s also other benefits like it gives a couple more inches of headroom above the bed and if operable then it can be a way to stand up or even access the roof, which could benefit people who have roof decks, for example… Could also be the egress option for people who rather not try to climb out the side windows and may have a ladder they can use from the roof for an easier descent than dropping to the ground from the loft window height…

Could you please tell what is it that was used between the refrigerator and countertop. It’s as tall as refrigerator and maybe a heat shield of some sort. I am looking for one to protect fridge from excessive heat from cooktop being so close. Please advise on where to get one or what to use. Thanks

      Aluminum sheet works great…

Awesome. And, I agree, navy blue is a classic. This place is gorgeous. A few ‘hmmms?’ I wonder why they didn’t put two turntable-lower-cabinets in the corners of the U-shaped kitchen to optimize storage. I also wondered how hard it would be to put a little criss-cross partition at the kitchen end of the sofa by the stairs… in navy, of course. I really love this place.
    Love Lyn
