Is there a ladder to get to the loft over the kitchen? And at the other end of the house, do you not bump into the TV when walking up the stairs? The bathroom/laundry seems like an odd layout. Is there a clothes closet? Maybe that low space under the raised room, by the sofa? Too much brown for my taste. I do like the sliding glass door in the raised room–that would be a pleasant space.

Hey Alison, it’s not completed yet… Note that it’s still in the company building facility and things like the cooktop aren’t installed yet and it’s just laying on top of the counter top…

So the ladder will be one of those things they’ll have there later or put in one of the storage spaces.

For the TV, it looks like as long as you don’t lean against the wall it should be okay, there’s still enough room under it to put a stair hand railing.

It’s bit high for comfortable viewing from the couch but any lower and you couldn’t opt to put in a hand rail…

If the house was wider, they could have placed the couch facing towards the upper bedroom and placed the TV where the bookshelf is above that barn door closet and have it flip-able so the TV can be also viewed from the bedroom but this was apparently designed to be road legal without needing a moving permit…

The bump out over the tow bar is square… so why on earth did they angle it inside where the drier is? Could have made FAR better use of space by keeping it square and adding other appliances, shelving et al.

Eric, no… The bump out is in the same shape as the trailer tow tongue bar, it is not square…

I’m feeling really dim here. What is the purpose for the square barn door next to the stairs. In one picture it’s one one side, then it has been moved to the other side. In neither pictures is there anything behind it. Or am I missing something?

Look at the floor in the second photo… It extends past the door, which means that is actually an opening to a storage space.

The whole space under that upper level is actually storage but the rest of it is accessed from the exterior and only that small part is accessed from the interior, along with the open storage spaces in the stairs.

I suspect that’s basically the closet… The photos are of it still being built, which is why the cooktop is on top of the counter top and not installed into it yet. So they will probably put a hanging rod into that storage space later.

I get it. It accidentally ended up looking like an optical illusion. Now that I look carefully, I see it now. Still, given the area, the storage space could have been much larger. I get that there are some things that are stored ‘outside’ for convenience, but with the small opening, how much could fit in there. And, how far could a normal-sized person reach in?

It’s basically comparable to a loft closet… If it extends all the way to the left and right walls then it’s a little tight and should have been a double sliding door to more easily get to both sides but if part of the right is the exterior storage and it doesn’t extend in that much to the sides then most people should be able to easily reach all parts of it by simply reaching inside.

I love tiny homes and would have one if I could afford it! I try not to be negative about how a tiny is laid out, but this one is a complete bust. The supposed living space is no more than a glorified closet with a tv, and the use of bathroom space is almost laughable. This layout has lots of storage, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it!

Actually it doesn’t look like it has much storage at all! I realize it’s not finished, but all the storage I see in the bathroom is the sink vanity. And the stairs going up to that middle level doesn’t seem to have drawers. This might appeal to uber-minimalist, but most of the other tiny houses I see have way more built in storage.

    Different, not better.

The toilet paper holder is BEHIND the commode. What is that? There is no shower door or shower curtain and where the washer dryer combo is sitting they could build a shelf going straight across that and have a place to fold clothes and put some shells in the middle for laundry supplies.

And the sliding door next to the couch, I don’t see an opening. It looks like the wall going across to me in both of the pictures.

Typically, there would be no shower door or shower curtain before it’s delivered to the client. Mind that it’s still at the builder’s work facility. So there’s final details that have yet to be done.

For the sliding door, there’s an opening right between the couch and stairs. Look closely and you’ll see the shadow from the opening showing there’s depth there…

While they do up to full custom builds…
