I love this layout! Plenty of room for comfortable chairs in the living area. So bright and cheerful, too. I like the way the living area could be changed to a bedroom area to accommodate the aging tiny-houser. I would lift that refrigerator up and put a clothes hamper drawer under it. Lot’s of room for individual adaptation.

I like it, but am not sure about having an open ladder over the kitchen worktop. I like the handrail, though.

If I were planning a house like this one I would have flipped the kitchen and the living room. You would have to lay out a little more elec and water lines, but you wouldn’t have the ladder and the body dander allowing stuff to filter down on to your food surfaces. Some would also prefer not to have the bathroom that close to the kitchen, although that doesn’t bother me since I am a gal alone and I always wash my hands before I leave the bathroom. I would also prefer waaaaaay more cabinets and usable storage space in the kitchen.

Good ideas! Didn’t think about it like that. Thanks, Brandi!

Or better yet, just flip the loft over the living room. LOL

Very nice layout, and size for a tiny house, Except for one thing… Where is the closet space?? I’ve noticed many tiny houses seem not to have closets of any kind or at least one.. and many that have, Even the closets are super tiny. with maybe enough space to hang three to four items and no more.. As well as cupboard’s in kitchen areas , Where is one expected to store food items and dishes, pots, pans etc.. Wonder why that is?

Great point, Dominick. More storage is definitely needed for a realistic full-time living situation. I wonder how it can be added, maybe with custom furniture, as there does seem to be lots of open space in the living area and even the loft too.

Love the stair/ladder with the rail. Most people do not wear shoes up to the loft, so at worst there would be sock feet going up and down the stairs. This may come as a shock to some people, but a little dust and dirt never hurt anybody, and it is easy to clean up a couple times a day. Your foot has to go through the steps a little to use them safely, so you can not put a back on them, and moving the living room under the loft takes away from the spacious feeling you want in your living area. It is nice just the way it is, and quite beautiful! The kitchen is very nice.

I was thinking the same thing about dirt! I know I must breathe in and eat at least a tablespoon every day. Stuff falls off of a person all day long. Hair is full of dirt & dust. If they were really worried, I suppose they could put a plexiglass shield behind it. An air filtration system would be on my list of must-have items in a tiny house, anyway. Also, I would need a place to put coats, boots and shoes. It would be a shame to clutter up that beautiful open space in the living area. They height of the loft is the best I have seen, also.

Thanks Lori, good call on the air filtration system, and yes I totally agree- storage is still needed in this one but I think it can be added with some good decisions on furniture and built-ins.

There is something completely “off” about this design compared to their other attractive offers. House looks dark. Clerestory windows too high, too small. No cross ventilation in loft. Kitchen dominates with too many cabinets and one whole wall with no windows. Living room looks like a bowling alley. No other storage.???

I am so bookmarking this one! Leaves me plenty of room to do as I please without taking out someone else’s ideas of what I need. Love the stairs. Across the open end of the loft, I would add some shelves for storage and keep myself and grandchildren from falling. Ha Plenty of room in living area to live not just exist. Really liking this one. Thanks for finding.
