The purpose was to create a studio living space and workspace out of an existing backyard structure.

The result is this beautiful, one-of-a-kind multi-level tiny home designed and built to perfection.

Tardis-Tower-003

The custom ladder gives you access to the upper floor living area through a hatch that flips up.

By the way, that very same staircase slides over to reveal the bathroom. So yes, it doubles as your bathroom door, revealing a compact shower with toilet and hand wash basin. How cool is that?

Tardis-Tower-005

I wonder what it’s like up in the living room floor. Let’s go see, shall we. It must be nice!

Tardis-Tower-006

In the studio space you have an elevated view of the garden, plus upper deck access. There’s more than one way to get up here, isn’t there…

The bed slides right out from a custom-built utility bench.

The bench is host to your bed, and kitchenette!

Tardis-Tower-009

Incredibly enough, it features a sink, fridge, cupboards, and shelves.

Tardis-Tower-0010

A place for your clothes and belongings.

Those stairs are a deal breaker. I know that I would be brain dead after a couple of times hitting my head, or end up with lots of broken bones from falling off. Who builds stairs like that? It looks like it takes up room in the bathroom, or at least makes it a maze to walk around.

I am curious as to why those stairs/ladder are needed when there are perfectly good stairs on the outside of the unit. Otherwise it is an interesting unit. I suppose in inclement weather you might not want to go outside to get to the bathroom, but, as said above — those stairs are a deal breaker — would think they could have come up with a better configuration. Like the patio area and decks.

plywood that gets wet does delaminate so I would not use it around a sink or a shower. the inside stairs scare me. I do like the cupola design.

What exactly is that extra room for…a dressing room? What a waste of space in the design. I would get bored with the place very quickly as it’s way too small.

    TARDIS? But… it’s not BLUE! 🙁

Looks like AmyCat and I were the only people actually expecting to see a tiny house that looked like a blue police phone booth from England. I’m a bit disappointed. (Number 10 is my favorite ?)

I also was expecting a tall 2 story box home that was blue. Actually a Tardis tiny home is a fun idea.

I found it too bare on the inside. But the outside looks okay.
Not much to say about it! Sorry!

That, too… No books, no interesting control console… no mad 900+-year-old alien running things… 🙁

And it doesn’t look bigger on the inside 😉

If it had The Doctor in residence, I’d forgive it not being blue or “bigger on the inside”… ?
Which is YOUR Doctor? Mine is Tom Baker (showing my age here?), and David Tennant’s my fave of the “reboot” Doctors…

I’m with AmyCat and Jean. I opened the link just to see the Tardis Blue house…darn it! It’s cute though. ?

I actually appreciate this little space. It’s different, light and airy, and has some clever design features. I’m 50 but those stairs don’t scare me. Add a little non-slip material to them and you’re golden.

AmyCat – I couldn’t find a reply button so I’m just posting again.
I started watching Dr Who with the reboot just as Eccleston was about to regenerate. #10 – David Tennant – is my absolute favorite! I did enjoy Matt with Amy and Rory, but I still love David and Rose, Martha and Donna Noble.

Why a movable stair? Reverse the bath layout with door on the right and built in alternate-step stair with handrail.

      ….oh, and that step-up kitchenette…..
