It’s one of those blank slate designs where they leave it to each individual customer to choose what they want in the kitchen and thus what trade-offs they are willing to have…

Mind, it also depends on what the customer intends to do with it… You generally don’t need a full kitchen if it’s only a guest house, a vacation house, weekend getaway house, BnB rental, etc.

While some people try to save a little on the costs by installing some things themselves after it is delivered or are very minimal and only need something like a counter top cookware that they can put away when not needed…

Lived for years, and catered for parties, with no more than a countertop convection oven, 2 gas hobs and an induction hob that were used on the table. We were a family of 3 but catered every month for our share of pot lucks, contribution to feed 20-30 people. Not difficult but you need to be organised. If you are in a good area you can also do most of your cooking outside, we used a fireput with spit and griddles set over it plus a hook for a big pot ( and yes there are photos of me standing over it holding an umbrella so the rain didn’t put the fire out ’til dinner was cooked, tastes great but not necessarily the vest option for Ireland’s weather.

Why was it called ‘Farmhouse’? Farms generally indicate something grown to eat. I guess it could have been a horse farm since there was no way to cook in there LOL!

We call it the farmhouse because it is modeled after a traditional farmhouse building style. There is plenty of room to cook in this kitchen and we typically put in ranges and ovens – but ultimately it is up to the client and what they prefer to have.
