I was happy to see that I’ve already implemented a dozen of these ideas, on my own. I gained knowledge of at least 6 others I’d like to put into immediate use, like the Tie Holder for Tank Tops. Brilliant!
I do want to mention, however, that I’m unfamiliar with the term “hacks” unless it applies to a computer being ‘hacked’ or broken into. Is “hacks” synonymous with “ideas?” Just curious as I almost deleted the email before my Curious Cat Nature had me open the email. 😀

Hacks are ideas, shortcuts, quick fixes for things.
Thanks, Megan. Do you know the origin of the word? I did several searches online and came up with 24 different definitions and NONE are what you suggest.
I believe you; words change but I’ve never encountered that variation.
Cahow, so cute! I laughed. I’ve got teenagers, so “life hacks” are little ways to get around following the typical crowd way of doing things, like “one off” uses for gadgets. Some examples: buying a kid’s meal at your favorite restaurant that then gives you a coupon for a discount on your NEXT meal which is again a kid’s meal thus cutting your restaurant bill to a fraction of what most people pay. OR using a shower curtain ring for scarves, etc.
Megan and LC: Many, many thanks for updating my knowledge to “Cahow 2.0”, regarding this complete turn-around of what this word used to mean! LOL Now, I can walk into any hipster bar and sling this word around with confidence. ~snort~
Here’s another Topsy-Turvy “upgrade” of a word that is NOTHING like the original. Last year, I had not heard back from a client in regards to some time sensitive quotes I gave her. She finally responded in an email that she had been “…out-of-pocket and hadn’t had any time to respond to me.”
Now, in MY world (and 99.9% of other people’s worlds) “out of pocket” means : “something that you had to pay for yourself, expenses incurred that you were responsible for or money losses you had to bear.” So, I felt sorry for my client and just left the quote to lie fallow.
A week later, I received a cheery email from her, apologizing for being so busy and she’d like me to resend the quote. I gave her a call and I told her about my confusion regarding going forward with the renovation if she was “broke” with her “out of pocket expenses”. She laughed and replied, “No! Out of pocket meant “she was super busy”. Somehow over the past half year or so, “out of pocket” has become a new business catchphrase meaning “unreachable, out of communication”, which is wrong in so many ways because WHO knows WHICH version a person is alluding to when they tell you that they can’t “Come to the movie because I’m so out of pocket.”? And lest you think that she’s a hipster and I’m an old fuddy-duddy, she’s 58 years old and I’m 62! LOL

Not sure of the origin, but seems to become the ‘new’ thing to call shortcuts. Here’s a definition from Urban Dictionary…the 2nd one is the one everyone is using.

Actually, the terms hack and hacking originally referred to pranks and practical jokes at MIT, at least since the 1960s. The tradition of hacking at MIT goes back at least into the 1800s but I don’t know when the term hack was first applied.

My son graduated from MIT with a degree in physics and an ability to pick locks learned from the hacking group.
LOL–the oldest useage I know of for the term “Hack” was as a Hackney Cab Driver in Olde England! Does that knowledge make my vocab look fat???
The way it is used today is as using one thing for another–the::: Aha!!! Moment as REAL SIMPLE calls it—using the shower “hooks” to corral the scarves (also useful for tank tops; purses; belts; tote bags used for stowage) PINTEREST is just filled with these life hacks as is BUZZFEED (some so-so; many surprisingly useful)
I use a lot of these and a few things I can’t live without—magnet racks (IKEA’s are great strong and cheap) on the OUTSIDE of the cabinets (my cabinets are old and I don’t care!) for extra knives; tongs; measuring cups; can opener; spare Swiss Army Knife; S hooks to hold non-metal things–and I just got another one with some of the small magnet “spice” containers; Using the pull tabs from sodas to hang pictures and plates (hot glue or two part epoxy) or over the hook of a clothes hanger to add another place for a hanger or an accessorie; 1001 Uses for Binder Clips including channeling charger cords and other cords; recipe holders; photo holders; seat belt clampers; picture hangers–use thin glass or plexi to sandwich a pic or drawing etc–use four and either remove the silver part or flip back on three of them and use fourth to hang; use an old CD bulk case for a bagel lunch holder; use a vaccuum bag to squash pillows to take on trips to hotels—yeah there really ARE a million and one uses for all sorts of things. If you go look at my Pinterest Board “Crafty Sh!t” (spelled out properly of course!!!) you can see quite a few. See ya there!

PS Like Cahow, I know the word “hack” in the context of computers, a hack (off; lazy layabout), and hack cars. Good thing I’m curious or I’d have given it a pass.
Instead of pegboard for hanging pots and pans, why not use something similar that is stronger and won’t rot out? Go to where they sell screen panels
of various designs. Kind of something you would see as a fire grate cover.
Just a thought..
I have always used the backs of all my doors (shoes/Ironing Boards/Scarves/Belts/Towels) =) in all my homes/condos

Good ideas, though using back of doors and walls so much would clutter the place immediately, especially in a Tiny House….:(. Some of the tiny houses we have seen were so cluttered it was stressful to see them.
One of the recent post stated that tiny house living is constantly moving things out of their place, then back into their place. That is exactly how I have described living in a larger space, with children. Constantly re-arranging things because of the season change, finding a space for new items, and just to clean up after childeren!
I could never understand how the couples in the tiny houses Without children have difficult times eliminating stuff!!!! 🙂
