Over the last couple of years I’ve had a chance to interview and talk with several tiny house builders.
It’s always interesting to learn what they have to say because there’s a lot you can learn from their experiences.
If you’re interested in building and/or living in a tiny house, then this interview is perfect for you.
I normally don’t publish really long posts, and this is one of them, so I separated it into 22 parts.

Alex: Can you give us the story behind what led you to building your first tiny house?
Aldo: In 2009 I found a photo of a tiny house online, and it really appealed to me.
At that point I had only rented/bartered for my housing and I was ready to try something different.
I loved the idea of being able to own my own place without going into debt, and the inherent flexibility of a house on wheels.
Plus, the challenge of designing and building a house really got my creative juices flowing and offered opportunity for the development of new skills.
Tiny houses encourage and even demand voluntary simplicity, something I feel is a real asset in this American society geared toward consumption and growth.
