40×28 Container Home 001

This is Brook, Ryan, and Soleil’s 40×28 shipping container home in Asheville, NC.

They’re a young family who, over the past year, bought and prepared their land, collected recycled materials, and built their first home using two shipping containers and a shed-style roof! It’s a 1,140 square foot house that was built for about $110,000 USD including land, mostly their own labor, and the help of friends. When you go inside, you’ll find a dining room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living area, and plenty of storage space.

Rob Grays Wothahellizat Mk2 DIY Expedition Motorhome 001

This is the story of how two people, at the age of 45, quit their 9-5 jobs, sold just about everything, and built this awesome Wothahellizat Mk2 DIY expedition motorhome to travel and live in.

The back story is basically that at the age of 45 we had both had a gut full of the 9-5 treadmill so we quit our jobs, sold just about everything, built Mk1 of the truck (the one we are talking about now is a rebuild that I call Mk2) and hit the road. That was back in 2001. We have now dropped anchor for a while and have almost finished building a house from shipping containers.

London Artists Leave Flat for Van Dwelling 0010

This is the story of how two artists from the UK left the busy London life for van dwelling after graduating from art school.

We are two artists from the UK who in July last year left the busy London life behind us to live in and to explore Europe and beyond. After graduating from Camberwell College of Arts with degrees in Fine Art in 2013, we moved out of our flat in London and traded the flat keys for a set of van keys, which we converted into our new home.

log-cabin-music-studio-004

This is the Dutch music performer, Hans Liberg’s, secluded music studio log cabin designed by Piet Hein Eek.

At a first glance it just looks like a big stack of logs. But once the window shutters are opened you can see that it’s actually a micro cabin! And it’s perfectly set up to create and play music while being away from everything else. Pretty awesome, isn’t it?

Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you!
