Whether something is well or poorly designed depends on how it will be used, what limitations like budget was part of its design and personal preference…
AirBNB’s are typically NOT going to be designed to be a full time home. Like hotels/motels/hostels they’re normally meant for temporary accommodations. Usually emphasizing cost effectiveness and minimizing maintenance and other requirements of using it as a rental property.
Private rental properties that people may have on their own property also typically make use of what’s available, which may mean it’s part or mostly improvised, and may have had to work around restrictions like some places will not allow a second kitchen to be placed on the same property as the main house or there may be a very high cost to adding certain features that would defeat the purpose of creating a rental property space.
So it’s not always realistic to expect too much from these types of properties or it may simply have a different usage than someone else may want to use it for…

This is my favorite so far….so small and easy ❤
The house is very cute on the outside. Didn’t know that had corner toilets, but that seems to work. The kitchen is my idea of a great kitchen: small. Double the size and I could live in it forever, with of course a garage.
Well the kitchen is poorly designed. No room to open cabinet. The toilet in bathroom is a no. Should have an Rv flush toilet along side of sink. Is this on a foundation?

I stayed in this Tiny home. Great place and very comfortable. I love staying there. Has everything-Swimming pool- Club house with Pool table- Clean ! Clean ! Clean !
Is this in a mobile home park? Did they need a variance in the county? Highlands county has shown itself to be very open minded about tiny homes in other parts of the county. Their building department is of the best and most responsive I’ve ever dealt with. But I think city planners back in the day made some really poor decisions with zoning and platting. IMO, It would be a pure genius move if the county took steps to fix some parts of Sebring, especially on the west side. Attract a new kind of home owner into old platted dirt road neighborhoods that have been stuck since the 70s. Clearly no big developer is going to touch those legacy lots, so why not finally grade the roads and relax building codes and minimum dwelling sizes a bit and market to creative, tiny, modular, owner builders and off-gridders? Some of those lots are in such great locations, but nobody wants to build on them because the entry point and risk is too great. I’d love to present an idea to the council one day.
It’s stated to be a vacation home, one of a number available for rent, located near the Sebring International Speedway and it’s not a mobile home but it is very close to Woody’s RV Resort, which according to some of the reviews, the host can offer alternative accommodations in a Park Model RV… So appears to be just a commercial property like a motel/resort, but it’s near an RV park that it has ties to…
Hi, I own lots in the area. County zoning allowed a variance for that dwelling size? Most lots in Highlands county require a minimum of 750sq dwelling space. What year was this built?
You’d have to contact the owner for those specifics but keep in mind it’s a short term rental. Rules are less strict for non-permanent housing and commercial properties, like motels, etc don’t have to be one large building.
Though, 2020 Florida Building Code, Residential, 7th Edition introduces Appendix Q. So you might want to check if the allowances have changed in your area now that the Tiny House Building Code is officially part of the state’s codes…
