20-ft. Tumbleweed Tiny House Shell for $20k

This post contains affiliate links.

Jim got in touch with us to show us his Tumbleweed Cypress shell that he built back in 2014 on a 20′ Tumbleweed Titan trailer. He did an awesome job with such attention to detail, and now he is ready for it to go to someone who can finish off the inside.

While he did sneak a shower stall into the build before closing off the walls, the rest of the interior is unfinished (no plumbing or electrical). The Cypress is Tumbleweed’s most popular model, and for a good reason. It’s the “classic” tiny house with a kitchen/bathroom under the loft bedroom and the living space in the front near the itty-bitty porch. It’s almost like a piece of tiny house history! Jim’s selling the shell for $20K.

I know from experience that some borax laundry detergent in water can scrub that mold stain right off and kill any mold that might be lurking underneath. Rinse well and dry in the sun. It’s a nice house, and I love the older Jay Shafer styles. Still the best!

Hey, Marsha! I completely agree with you about Jay’s older plans/houses. Sure do miss him and his thinking about tiny houses. Hope your enjoying your new-ish tiny back in NC! We built our “little” house 2.5 years ago. 560 sq ft. 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, plus garage. It’s a lot bigger than I wanted, but marriage equals compromise. LoL. Take care! pat

Thanks, Pat! As always, remodelling. Will send pics soon. In the meantime, have you sent pics of your home? Would love to see it. I’m sure Alex would, too.

Finally, we get back to reason for tiny houses, Cost. It would appear that the tumbleweed could be finished for under $30K. This this great start for anyone that wants to live in a tiny house. Great job.
