The faucet for the kitchen sink is really neat!

I really like this! It is the perfect size and the floor plan is wonderful! The exterior is so pretty with its metal siding. I can’t believe they got so much bathroom and kitchen space in such a small footprint. Simple, but imagine it lovingly decorated, and you’ll see a very cozy and beautiful tiny house.

Such a good point! They really maximized space.

Only having a double bed for living on isn’t the best. Having 2 smaller bed/couches where you can sit 6 comfortably, 8 in love and not bother one sleeping if 2 live there. For a double just use the seat backs as the center fill.
If only a double bed put a hot tub under it!! ;^) I actually owned an A-Liner popup that had one.

Haha a hot tub!? That’s awesome.

We have been looking at small dwellings for about two years plus. Minneapolis is a sanctuary city and dwellings are important in winter. This design does not apologize for its 16′ (there is nothing small about a 36′ THOW…) The layout and materials are the best I have seen. The Minneapolis 2040 program wants to have as its goal, housing for everyone. And our 10,000 lakes also have small lots that would invite this design for quality summer dwelling in natural settings… the view you speak of from the kitchen your article. Well done!
And as close to ‘maintenance-free’ as is practical. Good work, all contribute to the sustainability, small does.

This is nice. King size bed, kitchen is cool and the sink faucet is nice. Skylight is real nice as it looks bright in the tiny home.

I love this design. The only thing I would change is putting a Murphy bed that lifted vertically. Then you would have even more room if needed.

You are so correct, Pam. A Murphy bed would be ideal in this small of a space. This has some lovely features, however, I know that this would not be a long-term solution for me. I need a few more feet to accommodate my needs. Nice storage though.

Respectfully, I think that while nice looking, it is overpriced for a 16 ft.

That entirely depends how much goes into producing it… Thing to keep in mind is that houses aren’t all built the same, so they’re not all equal and equivalent. So price can range quite a bit…

Add, costs aren’t the same in every country. It can cost significantly more to build in some countries than others and that has to be considered as well as the differences in currency. While, outside of the US and Canada, most other countries don’t have a national highway system and Europe, especially, can have a lot of old roads. So road legal limitations can be significantly stricter in other countries, especially in terms of max weight that they usually can’t exceed 3500 kg (~7716 lbs), which usually means they have to engineer more and stick to lighter weight materials that will often cost more to keep the weight within the limit…

All while still striving for the standards of a home, which seeks to have long lasting, durable, well insulated, and well designed structure that far exceeds the standards RV’s are usually built to…

I agree with you that this is way over priced!

Respectfully, you know this how? You know what it cost to build in Australia? You know everything that was put into it? Please provide that information if you have it?

It’s not very helpful to just call it overpriced if you can’t point out how, otherwise people have no idea what to avoid to keep the price lower or they can develop unrealistic expectations that’ll just set them up for failure if they can’t figure out what it actually costs…

Wow, what a great floor plan. If the bed lift up to the ceiling a decent living area could be created. When using foldable lounge chairs the bed could be lowered to almost normal bed height. The integrated sotrage space is amazing. I would add a bigger fridge and freezer and add a counterspace extension.
I don’t like the sitting arrangement for dining and would prefer a fold up or down solution to face each other when eating which doubles as a working space.
Their pricing of around 50k shows that it can be done very economical.
I think its good for two and ideal if you want to travel a lot.
    Well done.

I’m a bit tired of tiny homes being so small that they only have a bathroom, a kitchen way too big for the size of the enclosure, and no place to sit with friends, relax, eat at a small table, as well as having very minimum storage. This tiny house does not make a home. Its a place to sleep, cook, and relieve yourself. That’s not living, this is a camper for a weekend get-away. Might be ok for a few but I’m not impressed calling it a home.
I’ve seen much better layouts for this size enclosure on this site.

Well, this is a showroom model and not a unit that was built for someone. So it’s understandable there may be some elements of the design you don’t like but to be fair that’s still arguable, as all designs have trade offs that not everyone will agree on for what’s better as what’s better for you can be someone else’s worse and vice versa…

Though, this does have a desk and it does have quite a bit of storage for this size THOW. It only seems to lack seating but that may be simply because they’re stored away in favor of keeping more space to be able to move around in, which would have been the priority for a showroom model, and just lacks dedicated seating but that could be address by the new owner.

Besides, this is hardly the smallest tiny house, there are even some people who consider even this too large for their needs, and not everyone’s life depends on what they can do in just only their home. For most, part of tiny living is to spend more time outside the home… Some places in the world, people even spend most of their time outside of their home as the cultural norm.

So understandably not for you but I wouldn’t suggest confusing that with it not being something that can be a home for someone else who may simply have very different ideas of what constitutes a home, as that does vary around the world… Especially, as the new owner has the option to renovate or even remodel it…

Overall, it is extremely functional! King size bed gives you plenty of sleeping room. Kitchen with storage is great. Bathroom with sink, toilet and shower are all the essentials! This is perfect habitat for someone who doesn’t need all the extras, but has all the essentials to live.

  • January 12, 2021, 3:15 am

Wonderful. I love all the cabinetry. The only thing that would have made it better is to have a lifted bed, so that during the day, there would be a U-shaped sofa/dining area, and then at night, the bed would float down from the ceiling. Or even a Murphy Bed would have been a better use of space, but then you’d need to choose either a sofa or a table. Love Lyn

This would make an ideal She-shed, Man Cave, guest room or pool house. Very clean looking.

Alex!!! Comparing the side of this tine with door and small small distance from the door to the corner on the left..does not allow room for any bed let alone a king size. Help us out here – it this trick photography or two different homes???

      In Australia, there’s 3 King sizes…

      King Single = 1060×2030 mm (42″x80″)
      King = 1830×2030 mm (72″x80″)
      Super King Size = 2030×2030 mm (80″x80″)

Might fit a double bed, maybe (5′ wide in U.S.)

I’d opt for a quality sleeper sofa and replace the cabinet above the fridge with shelving to accomodate a combination microwave oven, but otherwise this is lovely! I especially love those teeny lofts at either end – perfect space fr some art.

Beautiful! However your information is wrong. Canberra is the capital of Australia in the A.C.T. (Australian Capital Territory). Designer Eco Tiny Homes are from Ulladulla, in New South Wales (N.S.W.). What amazing building/design ~ well done!!
