It’s a cool idea to build with pallet wood. But one thing I would have done different before even starting: the pallet panels should be stepped/overlapping. Drastically improves strength and stability of the house, and looks better too. I am sure this friendly chap just didn’t know, and Deek is diplomatic, he won’t mention after it’s been built.
When you use wooden panels on walls, floor, or ceiling, make sure they are stepped. One step is enough.

Thanks Deek for bring this to us..! As we all know pallets are readily available wood we see all the time, and with a lot of effort and the need for housing arises we can build tiny house from them…! I guess the biggest stigma to over come is the idea of using pallets…! But when you need to find a place to live what is more important the material and how you got it or the ability to say at the end of the day I have a place to sleep tonight…! I say here is a young man who is trying to just survive, and he found an answer to his problem of needing a place to live on what I am only assuming is a budgeted income…! Hay I say good for him he didn’t sit around crying into his beer he met the challenge and built himself an affordable place to live… Good for you Buddy…!

Wow.,amazing! I’d love to know why he stayed there only 7 months… Wonder if he’s gonna build a better one, perhaps??? 🙂
So it’s certainly true what some admit that pallets are a disaster to work with!!!! But seems to be worth it!
I recall another video where the pallets formed the frame of the house , not so tiny either, then were filled in.. 🙂

Yes we posted a cabin a man made just using whole pallets as framing. I think that’s be easier overall, but of course you have to purchase other wood! From my experience, pallets are a LOT of effort, but when you are on a budget, they are free lumber 🙂 Woot! — Tiny House Talk Team

I have to say, that is a great job done for a micro home, recycling pallet wood. A good use for the wood instead of wasted and thrown in the dump. Two thumbs up!

I total love this guy’s place! I’m a pallet guy, as well. Taking apart pallets isn’t so bad, if you have a pallet separation tool you can get them online or make your own – plenty of good videos out there on how to make one. I think mine was like $80.
