This is a 10′ x 20′ luxury 10ft wide tiny home on wheels by Chris Heininge Construction. It’s available for $69,000 out of Aurora, Oregon.

The design features a sofa bed that turns into a queen bed with side-by-side closet space and an open-concept design with kitchenette, dining nook, and bathroom with stacking washer and dryer. If it looks kind of familiar, it’s because we featured the original version of this tiny house by Chris Heininge way back in 2014. This version was built on a foundation so it featured a sleeping loft that most could actually stand up in.

Looks like one can choose between a bathroom sink or a washer/dryer, or have both if you delete the closet in the bathroom. The microwave oven is too high (above the fridge). But overall it’s a comfortable house. The ten foot width makes a big difference.

Though this is nicely done, I always wonder why the kitchen always ends being so small with little counter space. And I’m thinking it would be nice if the bathroom door wasn’t right next to where you were cooking. Leave the bathroom where it is but shift the kitchen to the end (you’ll have to move the slider over just a few inches) and run it the whole width with a nice corner base cabinet with a carousel inside at the farthest corner. Put the fridge or range next to that. I suppose that means more plumbing needs to be run because the bathroom and kitchen are on opposite ends but it’s only 20′ so no big deal. Moving the kitchen means the living area can be in the middle with good access to the bathroom. Install a Murphy bed that has a built in sofa when it is closed and you can have a nice living room and a bedroom when you pull the bed down. Have a big screen TV across from it and get a coffee table that raises up to dining table height when you want to eat. I think there would be a way to put a small island by the kitchen if it was on wheels and could be out of the way when you wanted. So many clever designs to make that happen easily with it completely disappearing when not in use. There would be a nice kitchen to cook in but with more counter space, you can also do art projects if you are so inclined. And plenty of distance between the kitchen and a sometimes stinky bathroom! Well, that would work much better for me and I’m sure others have other ideas that would personalize it for them. And isn’t that the fun part of seeing these inspiring posts? Thanks, Alex!

Like the house and the lay out. works for me, nice studio apartment. Given I don’t cook much, the counter is more than adequate. these are small spaces and for many devoting more space to cooking just isn’t warranted. this house is really for one or two people and it works for that. Like the loft, would provide lots of space for storage. if you don’t want to do ladders at night the couch/bed is great. the shower is a good size, I could live there no problem. As to the bathroom being too close to the kitchen, that is why we have doors, close it and you’re fine. In many very old houses, the bathrooms were always right by the kitchen because you could locate all the pipes in one spot. It reduces cost. if you want more separation expect to loose floor space and pay more
