This is a 100 sq. ft. off-grid micro cabin on a foundation in Portugal.
Mat & Danielle from Exploring Alternatives recently had the chance to spend a few nights in this extremely tiny off-grid micro pod in Portugal.
They filmed a full video tour (see below) and you might be surprised at how comfortable the space is considering it’s only 100 square feet.

The pod has a round front door and a woven heather fence mat on the roof to help it blend into the natural landscape.

The curved cabin walls are supported by two sets of metal arches, and there’s enough space inside for a double bed, a drop leaf table with two stools, and a tiny kitchen with a propane fridge and cooktop, a sink, and some storage.

At the foot of the bed, there’s a small storage shelf with space for clothes, towels, books, and suitcases.

The kitchen table is a great size for eating or playing a board game, and it has extra space along the wall to keep fruit and other things you want to have easily accessible.
The table leg can be removed and the table drops down to create extra floor space if you want to do yoga or have more room for people to come hang out.

The kitchen is tiny but functional. The water is gravity fed from a cistern nearby, and the fridge and stove have propane from a tank outside.
There is a separate building with a two-seat dry composting toilet and a shower with water that’s heated in an antique wood-fired water heater.

The micro pod is a great place to spend a few relaxing days disconnected from the grid, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s in a beautiful location just steps from cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. For more info about staying in the pod, you can check out the links below!

This is really cute. I wonder if DIYers would find it easier to construct than typical, rectangular tiny houses. I’d want a more fire-resistant roof, but otherwise, this seems like a great idea. The wind would flow right over it, if situated properly.
It’s bit small for me to live in, but absolutely perfect for spending long periods of time away from home!
So cute! For some reason, though, the idea of a sink right next to the bed skeeves me out. Just a personal quirk. Hopefully, no one will be outrageously offended by that. Seems to be an internet trend the last week or so for people to take things so personally. Overall, this is a really sweet little space. I love the wood and the round window. Once again, it’s all a matter of taste. No offense intended.
