The interior reminds me of a boat in how well everything is thought out. Very practical and very beautiful.
The dog house is the cutest thing ever. I’m not sure it is that useful for the dog with the small door opening, but who cares, it is a miniature tiny house <3

By the way “Europe” ranges from Ukraine to Ireland, and from Sweden to Greece. I’d really rather see the name of her country.

She is from France… a quick look on the link pages that Alex provided at the bottom of the photos would have elicited that information for you. It most certainly did for me.

Half of Europe is missing! Russia on the western side of the Ural Mountains! It must represent 1/2 of Europe.

Laetitia: Now aren’t you such a sweet gal to even think of building your four legged friend a tiny house too! You inspire and impress me very much for your kind and generous heart. Good job and well done, not for just the dog house but yours as well, my dear!

Thank you Rosee ! I’m very happy to read your comment. To be honest, my four legged friend sleeps on the porch of my tiny house and not in his own very small tiny house^^I can’t blame him as his only request is to be as close as possible to me 🙂

Well since he’s already taking up porch space maybe you could just restructure part of his house into the porch.

Oh my goodness! This company makes beautiful tiny homes! My 4 Connemara Terriers would love the dog house. 🙂

Do you really think all 4 would fit in the 1 dog house?

      • August 12, 2016, 10:21 pm

Possibly, they have short legs and average 15 pounds. If not they’d be happy to take turns.

I took a look at her site when I first read the post, so I know she is from France.
But she use of “Europe” is so broad, it is practically useless.
Using “The Americas” can be compared to it. Life is very different depending on whether you live in inuit Canada, Midwestern USA or Uraguay.

So inspiring and she did a fantastic job.
She must have a design background I’m thinking. The artistic touch with the tree branches between the book shelves, the wood designed boxes on the second loft.
Very talented. When the spirit moves all things awaken together to create the dream.
On her website, her house is pulled very close to a tree, into its branches to give a forest or shade effect. Benefit of wheels:))

Hi all, I’m Laetitia, the builder of this house. I want to thank you so much for this article and your kind comments. It means a lot for me as I started to make my research about tiny house on Tiny House Talk before to build my own. Now I’m working with my small team to build tiny houses for other people to live in. Tiny house movement is just beginning here in France but what you explore in US is such a great inspiration. Thank you again, sincerely.

HI! I really love this one! I really love all the detail you put into this! I was thinking about the same floor plan, except with stairs. You made this homey and not cluttered at all. I like your vision. One lucky dog! That dog house is awesome! Thanks for sharing your tiny house 🙂

Hi, I have a question for anyone out there. It just occured to me today, not last year or the year before but today duh that all of these tiny houses have the price they bought them for or what it cost to build. BUT I want to know, does that include the trailer too?? I seriously need to reconsider my budget if that’s the case. Please if someone could let me know I’d appreciate it!
    Jody

      October 4, 2016, 10:43 pm

The trailer is the first thing you need and you build the house directly on to it. The cost of the trailer does need to be included in your budget if you’re building a THOW. If it’s on skids or on a foundation, you obviously would save money by not having to buy a trailer.

Alright I know I made the comment about the dog house, but after reviewing this house again, I do have to admit I am amazed at how nice this house really is built for only $18,000.00… I wish I could get away with some thing that inexpensive… Every thing I look at or like is at a cost of no less than $38,000.00 and up…! So as I said I like the dog house nice touch, but all in all very impressive at only the cost of $18,000.00….

Just noticing that some of her furnishings are from Ikea,, which is a good cost factor..
Also?? $18000.00 European cost or North American?
What ever!!! It’s the best gosh darn one to date and to take care of doggy friend too!!!
And Alex? I hit a comment button wrong on some one up^ there.. sorry..?

Be thankful you’re not in New Zealand or Australia. You can double the $$$ amount easily. Everything here is much more expensive… rapacious material suppliers and manufacturers.

        October 8, 2016, 8:52 am

I’m not sure if you were replying to me or not, as I fail to see the connection but the reply did find it’s way to my mailbox… If I had lived in New Zealand I’m sure my circumstances would not be the same as they are at the moment or all along… I would suspect I would have originated there and my personal life would more than surly be a different tale indeed, and the cost of living would reflect my person…
You will find that there are some or maybe more than some unscrupulous persons in the trades, and equal in the supply and manufacture end of the trades where ever you go or live….!

If you do your own labor, and you are using a small amount of materials…then a low price is achievable. Maybe someone can get some place to pre-cut all their materials and ship them out as a kit. How about that? Design your own kit house! Maybe we need those designs and material cut lists! Maybe your local home depot or lowes (or independant local lumber yard) will cut everything for you?

  • August 22, 2016, 11:29 pm

It’s beautifully done. Good job! But I’d jealously guard the small space by creating an external (covered) entryway, instead of wasting inside space.

So, where is it parked? Did she buy her own land? Is she on someone else’s land? This is the only real hangup with tiny houses in America.

That is such a BEAUTIFUL house! And the dog house is the cutest and most creative thing ever! I’m glad to see that some people are eschewing what seems to be the current fad of plain box-like structures on wheels – like a railroad boxcar. This woman’s house LOOKS like a house! It has character and a lovely design. Very well dobe

Impressive build for $18000… though it may be Euros rather than dollars. A formidable design and execution, regardless. Laetitia seems to have made practical design choices that lend continuity, translating into a deceivingly comfortable space for such a tiny tiny. Well done.

This is fantastic! The best part, of course is the dog house. You are a very creative person with good ideas. I love the wood you used, the loft looks great. I can’t believe you built this whole thing for so little money. Way to go! When are you coming to Minnesota and building mine? LOL. Greetings from the United States.

In lots of European countries using the local launderette is common. I wash only underclothing or delicate items at home and dry them outside on the aired, everything else goes to the local launderette, they collect every Saturday morning and drop off again that afternoon/evening. She has enough clients that Saturdays are for household laundry only, during the week she also does dry cleaning. Many from eastern Europe regularly use the launderette as they did back in their home country, and it beats my friends who seem to come in from work and have to do the days washing before they can settle down to rest. It seems a couple of loads a day is normal now, but my son-in-law works in construction which is a killer on washing machines (know this from past experience). Even the local monastery sends their washing out every week for convenience, it is cheaper, quicker, comes back dried and folded neatly, no worries about drying heavy duvets or eiderdowns. We have decided that even when we get our own house, God willing, the launderette keeps our custom even if I have to drop off and collect myself as it makes life so much easier.
