Young Couple’s DIY School Bus Cottage on Wheels

This post contains affiliate links.

I’d like you to meet Julie and Andrew, a young couple who transformed an old school bus into their very own mortgage-free cottage on wheels.

Since the both of them love to travel and did not want a home with a 30-year mortgage they decided to go tiny. So for only $10,000 they bought this partially-converted school bus and did the rest of the work to turn it into home.

Once you go inside their bus you almost forget you are even in a school bus! Instead you feel like you’re in a rather a chic and stylish cottage. I think you might agree that they are making the most out of simple living. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you!

The couch doubles as storage space, the toaster oven can be used as a mirror for shaving for Andrew and there is even a nice little library of books above their bed. Oh and yes they have a bathroom too, with a shower. And, they don’t live alone, their sweet furry friends are with them too.

“Now, we’re able to live where we like, and travel to the places that call our hearts. Vacations are more affordable because we don’t have to pay for a hotel, which means we can allot more to experiences and activities. Most importantly, we aren’t pouring our hard-earned money down the metaphorical rental drain for something we will never own. This bus is ours. So is our freedom.”

My dream home! I don’t want fancy or expensive, just so that it will drive on down the highway. At my age don’t think I would be any good at hooking up a trailer or tiny home to some big old truck. After years of pondering and getting my home ready to sell, my dream is a converted school bus…..some day soon!
