Woman Converts Bus into Mobile Home that Runs on Free Vegetable Oil

Zola Molotov, a fire dancer, converted this 24 foot school bus into a functional mobile home on wheels that runs on free waste vegetable oil collected from restaurant deep fryers.

Following a freegan philosophy, she attempted to reuse and scavenge many materials for the skoolie conversion, including the sink and propane stove that were given to her in exchange for demolishing an old trailer.

Zola and a diesel mechanic installed a waste vegetable oil system that allows the bus to run on diesel, or on waste vegetable oil.

Another great school bus conversion…! I love that they are becoming a favorite of our young today… They are very hearty, and can go almost anywhere.. If you are lucky to find one which is worth converting, it is a worth wild thing to do a conversion of it…! Motor coaches are very expensive these days with all the luxury items that are included within them, so if you want to have a motor coach cheap enough to own for your trips to the wilderness, or beaches on our shores you need to find a school bus worthy of your time to invest in it, build a conversion coach…!

I boondock and live out of my 19ft RV/Van full-time–in fact, it was featured on this site–and I see endless videos of cute women living tiny, living in buses and living the vanlife. It seems that a lot of women are choosing this lifestyle. Where are these women in Louisiana and the Deep South?!!! haha… they all think I’m crazy here. Most guys think what I’m doing is cool but the ladies are NOT into it at all.

Does it make a difference driving it in the winter with the vegetable oil system? What is the price? I think it looks wonderful and an incredibly unique idea.
