Wow! Very nice tiny home. It looks to be very much worth the $72,000. Just to rich for my blood. Thank you for sharing.

It is nice, but that type of loft ceiling never makes sense to me. People do more then sleep in their beds and that ceiling makes it so you cannot even sit up.

I do love the livingroom and the color in it.

If you sleep with your head near the stairs, you have oodles of headroom 🙂

Very nice, lots of lovely details. Love the wall paneling. The angle kitchen sink, nice touch.

Yes that sink is so fun!

I love this one! The only thing I would change would be less bathtub, perhaps a nice modern rounded corner shower, and a large wardrobe closet next to it. I wouldn’t want to hang all my clothes on that rod in the loft by the foot of the bed. And where does the washer/dryer go? I didn’t see a space for it without losing more valuable storage space. I’m glad it has a fairly normal fridge/freezer.

Hmm not sure! Maybe in the stair storage?

refreshing different. Although it isn’t my style I like it although it has a loft and this space consuming stairs. I would put the sofa across driving direction to widen it optically.
    Great job!

      January 12, 2017, 5:24 am

The stairs actually are an excellent use of space with the storage underneath. What are you going to do, have a hoe down in there — I rather doubt it. This unit is only 26 feet long.

      • Michael
        January 12, 2017, 5:57 am

Sandi, I don’t like lofts at all. They are cramped, you need to crawl around and they aren’t for a tropical climate which we have here in FL. Remember physics hot air is getting up and cold air down. That’s why heating systems are best close or better under floor and air condition outlets are under or integrated into ceiling.
For comfortable sleeping it should be cool.
I would put a lift up bed which can be lowered to let’s say sofa height and goes under the ceiling when not in use. This way no space is occupied by the bed and it allows even a California King and you don’t need to make it up before going to sleep.
Murphy bed would be another option when its one one end of the THOW.
When there is no loft, no stairs are needed.

        • Sandi B
          January 14, 2017, 6:00 pm

Good grief, you can be a pain. You said the stairs to the loft take/consume valuable space. I merely pointed out that they double as storage, which is needed by the way. None of us need a lecture on heat rising and cold sinking, most of us have been to school and do know about these things. A Murphy bed would actually take up more space than the stairs and a “pull up” bed would keep one from being able to have ceiling fans and thus needed air circulation. We really do not care what you like or do not like in your THOW — the object is to give an objective opinion on the unit shown and there is nothing wrong with the stairs to the loft, or the loft itself, just because you do not like lofts.

So how about you build your own tiny house, Michael, and show us the pictures and give us a total rundown of the whole thing. Then WE can criticize YOUR work. How does that sound?

I think that a drop-down bed would be a great idea in the space. Or maybe a pullout couch for the guest bed. I love the bathtub but it is not for me. I LOVE the bathroom sink and the kitchen layout with all of the full appliances! It is hard to believe that they fit all of that into a 26 footer. I’m designing a 20′ and I’m having a hard time with the storage ideas. I love the entertainment center with all of the cubbies, however it might be a good idea to have some kind of way to secure everything that you put in there while traveling. Maybe some kind of glass sliding pieces to keep it light and open. I also really like the copper pipe railing and the wood to separate the space while keeping it open and airy. Nice job!

    • Natalie

A absolutely stunning Tiny House…! I did not look to see how much it cost, And I don’t wan to either as it would spoil the whole thing for me…! I can only wish the person who buys this Tiny House many great years of enjoyment and life in it…!

I don’t really see how they can build it for 72k makes all the rest of them in that price range way overpriced.

    • Natalie
      January 12, 2017, 7:57 am

With all the accessories and decor included, plus all the extra labor using reclaimed materials, it’s just remarkable it’s that inexpensive!

    • ZACHARY E MOHRMANN
      January 23, 2017, 6:14 pm

I say that all the time…! That they are over priced compared to tiny houses like this who can justify the coast…

  • Michael
    January 11, 2017, 8:54 pm

I don’t know where all the negative vibes are coming from, but this is a very nice tiny house. So refreshing to see someone put some craftsmanship into a build. Wonderful details. I’m not really a candidate for full tiny, I’m more of a small house, like 600 to 800 sq.ft. shoper, but if I was alone, this would suit me just fine.
As far as the loft ceiling is concerned, that huge skylight would be awsome. The reason for the low ceiling is simply height restrictions on a trailer. Can’t be more than 13′-6″ over all. Build it with 1 ft ground clearance, 6″ floor/trailer frame, 7 ft living space on the 1st floor, 6″ loft floor, 4 ft living space in the loft, then 6″ ceiling/roof frame and you are at 13′-6″. Just all there is if you want to be able to pull it down the road..

    • Natalie
      January 12, 2017, 7:56 am

That’s the truth, Michael! We’d all love to fit more in a tiny, but there’s a reason it’s a “tiny” hehe

I love the copper throughout and the awesome decor, the rounded table, bar stools and bench; the tub is awesome and Yay! on the flush toilet. I’m wondering why they cheaped out on the dresser drawers uptop. Everything’s beautiful, gorgeous, well done, wood, copper, interesting colours and designs, and then there’s this cheap click-clack white plastic/metal cage drawer set upstairs. Weird. I do love the hanging wardrobe bar w/metal hardware though, nice touch esp. with the wooden hangers.

    • Natalie
      January 12, 2017, 7:55 am

Yes I did agree the loft seemed more “boring” than the rest of the house, but the chance to hang things is always a plus!

This is perhaps the most beautifully done tiny house I have seen in the 3 or so years I have been looking. “Luxurious” is the best word I have. It gives me a sense of not camping out. My only change would be headroom in the loft. Maybe the bed could be moved to the other wall. The exterior is all very well crafted, too. Thanks.

    January 12, 2017, 4:08 am

This is quite simply beautiful. The finish is exquisite and I just love the colours. I never use a bath so would change the bathroom and add that saved space to the living area. Unfortunately I’m too old for any lofted tiny house. It’s not the stairs/steps; I can manage them, but crawling around on my knees to make beds is no longer possible for me. If I was younger I’d very happily live in this.

    • Natalie
      January 12, 2017, 7:52 am

      It is one beauty 🙂

  • Sandi B
    January 12, 2017, 5:13 am

They did a stunning job on this. The wall paneling in the living room area is outstanding and the use of bold colors makes a huge difference! I do not see why people are afraid to use bold colors in small spaces. I like the tub in the bathroom, but would not put a tub in, but rather a shower — I personally would have problems climbing in and out of that tub, but it is very well done. The shed roof seems a little steep to me — unless, of course, if it is going to be in snow country — otherwise less of an angle on that roof would give additional head room for the bed. Also I do not think I would like windows to be at the head of my bed — if that is the head of the bed. The craftsmanship in this house is exceptional. I really like the tile work in the kitchen, but I am truly enthralled with how they did the living area. A lot of very good ideas — thanks for sharing.

Kudos to the builder for givingus some specs. Really helps justify the cost. The interior design is just great. Love the copper. Around here scrap copper goes for about $4/pound…so if you can find and re-use it…

The styling on this TH is admittedly not for me, but I can certainly see how all that attention to detail translates to value, for someone who I’m sure will love living there. Much appreciation for the detailed specs too. Kudos.

Lovely wall panelling and herring bone flooring all marred by butt ugly pallet wood used for keeping the wood burner off the floor.

    Why, why, why???

    • Kelly

The wood in the spaces surrounding the fireplace is not supporting said fireplace, rather is simply decorative.

Two things missing on most of these tiny houses is comfortable seating and loft beds without side rails and illegal in many states. Today you showed three houses with comfortable seating. Maybe we can see more. Thank you.

Wow, wow, wow! Love the wood and all the blue, what they did in the living room is stunning. Love the flooring, the copper, the sink, all the beautiful details. The subway tile in the kitchen!! Everything is so nice and well done. Who cares about the wire storage unit in the upstairs? I have 2 of those in my Create room, they’re great (and not cheap). This is proof that you can really glam up a tiny house and change the whole look.

    • Natalie

Exactly! Decor is everything in any home, but certainly in a tiny home 🙂

  • January 23, 2017, 8:11 pm

I’m Swooning! This is perfection to me…I’d live there in a heartbeat! We downsized (for us) and I gave up my tub in exchange for a shower. More practical, less room..the whole drill. I miss having the option to take a bath. I love the kitchen layout, love the stairs, the windows, Everything. Is. Beautiful.

    • Natalie

  • Susanne
    January 23, 2017, 10:51 pm

Lovely… But as far as costs- reclaimed wood, and the hours that went into it/ don’t use reclaimed and it’s cheaper! Sad…the more work that needs to be done to the reclaimed, the higher the price. It costs to recycle… $$$

    • Natalie
      January 24, 2017, 5:21 am

Yes it’s hard. My parents used all reclaimed wood for the floors in their home and it took them DAYS to get it all in because they were dealing with imperfect pieces, but the end result is amazing 🙂

Very creative design and nice looking home. I am sure someone would just love to live in this one. If I had the money I would take one with minor changes to fit my tastes more. Over all I like this one very much. Good job.

      One of my favorites 🙂

  • March 10, 2017, 2:02 pm

It’s amazing how it takes little to make a small space a cozy and elegant setting, boiserie dark green/blue, natural raw floor, a sofa in pearl gray leather that makes the angle summary, link everything else ago by well-tuned background.

This house is an absolute stunner! Very clever and aesthetically appealing kitchen design that appears highly functional. Love the copper on display and the seating area. The use of subway tile. Very nice. Teal is not my favorite shade of blue but this is minor. The only things I personally find a bit disappointing is the shed roof. I think gambrel provides better headroom. Skylights. Very nice touch. This house , to me SCREAMS that it needs to be a few feet longer and a couple of feet wider. The living room is beautiful but needs to be a little bit bigger. To fully enjoy it. I dislike gyms and like to workout at home. I need a solid 8×8 space to work in. I hope to be the owner of a tiny house and am an enthusiastic voyeur of them. For the most part I find this house to be a gem. Well done!
