I want to share with you this 226 sq. ft. lake house cabin that’s situated on a narrow island in Loosdrecht Lake in the Netherlands. This island is so small it’s barely wide enough to fit the house!
When building the lake house the architects kept in mind the location which is on a nature preserve. They kept the exterior simple so it would not detract from the surrounding environment. Inside the cabin everything is simple and free of visual clutter.
With different floor levels for the living and dining room you can enjoy unique views of the surrounding area. At night the living area transforms into the sleeping space.
Along one side of the cabin is the built-in service wall. It’s home to the compartmented kitchen, bathroom and storage.

Love the openess but it would look alot better with some furniture. And some paint?? Tinyhousetalk, if your going to show these types of homes It would be great if you told us the price! $$$ preferably in my English just a suggestion.
The lack of furniture and paint are what the owner is going for, a clean look. Owners discretion on their home, they do as see fit.
As far as a price goes, many times it in not listed for whatever reason. With a little bit a research you could come up with a rough estimate if you were so inclined.
Great ideas!
Super! One would almost feel a part of the lake.
Don’t throw stones!
I love the simplicity.
The concept of spatial “slices” is an interesting way of determining zones and use. LOVE the wood stove.
No privacy,,,your sitting “ducks” if a big wind blows threw,,,, I cannot say much more,,, In my estimation it is foolish with so much glass. jan
I dunno. I’d guess it’s pretty spendy and not too practical, being on a small island (do they ever experience flooding or drought?). Very pretty!
I’m not a fan of the modernism thing (too sterile) or the huge window-walls (no privacy) but the functional zones-by-slice is interesting. It’d be neat to see someone adapt that concept to a design with more warmth and character.
