Turn Your Car Into a Motorhome with the Swiss Room Box

A friend on Facebook pointed this out today.

It’s a kit that makes your current car into a tiny motorhome.

It’s almost like a turning your car into a transforming teardrop camper….

Or better yet, a car camper.

The rear is used as a galley / mini kitchen (kind of like a teardrop camper).

The rest are a bunch of boxes which consist of a hidden toilet, storage, and more.

It even has a shower system, water tanks, and a sleeping platform.

Watch the video and check out the photos, too, below…

Nice, well done video w/ excellent music too. Interesting concept that might work for some. I knew there had to be a swiss army knife in there somewhere. Personally, this appears to require a higher level of organization than I could ever handle. I'd lose a piece, put something in the wrong place, and then nothing would fit right ever again! What about luggage? These people don't appear to have any.

Good points Jay. I agree this is way too small for a lot of people, but I can still see the fun in it for myself. I guess it will work if you're looking to backpack but replace the tent with your car…. or have both? They had backpacks on in the video. But if you wanted to carry more you can get one of those THULE roof boxes to hold more stuff.

Awesome innovation – a swiss army knife on steroids! what else could one expect from the people of the finest watch makers – a nation of people who seem naturally inclined to taking care of the most minute details, and that they all fit together in precise working order with no extra parts, every possible need already thought of. This is to the yuppie couple’s chic camping getaway dream, as the ultimate swiss army knife is a christmas stocking gift to a young lad on Park Avenue – meanwhile, in the real world….. ha ha – it is fantastic – it truly is wonderful and innovative – and since I might soon be living out of my car – I was for the briefest of seconds, curious – but then I realised that not only would it be over priced, but as Jay says – I’d lose a piece, and then nothing would fit right again – nothing wrong with taking note of some of the organizational ideas for inspiration tho’. Nice idea – cute video.

I have seen this post before and LIKE the idea. However I tried a website to check currency conversion and not sure how they converted chf to dollars. Basic kit price for a compact car shows 4012,40 chf converts to 452169.25 USD. Sounds high priced to me.

Joyce, here in the states we use periods . for cents and not commas , so your 4012,40 becomes 4012.40 which is equal to 4,513.76 USD.

This really is a great idea, however I vote for DIY because it will cost approximately $78,000 so…. Might as well get an RV or build even a couple TH 🙂 Happy Trails! God bless you! Really cool idea though Alex ty for sharing.

WOW! I love everything about it but the price. Coming from Switzerland with delivery and customs duties, I can’t even imagine how it will be classified for import and what that will add to the bottom line. I do like it better than a teardrop because there’s nothing to tow but still too expensive for me. Too bad. I do love the concept. Thanks Alex! Something else to drool about.
