Tumbleweed Small House: The Harbinger Tiny House

Tumbleweed Houses is well known for Jay Shafer’s tiny houses which are normally built right onto trailers.

But did you know they also design small houses?

Living in a tiny house is cool and can probably even be done with multiple occupants but let’s face it…

We’re happier with our own space.

So if you’re used to life on a sailboat, then tiny living should be easy for you.

But if you’ve got a family, you should check out small houses instead.

So let’s look at the 310-407 square foot Harbinger

There are two versions, one with an additional bedroom downstairs.

Besides that you’ve got a small front porch that welcomes you to the great room.

Bathroom and kitchen in the rear and an alcove beside the front porch.

Upstairs is your sleeping loft as well as what looks to be a storage loft.

Extra bedroom

In this version the kitchen has a door which leads to your bedroom in the rear of the home.

Costs

Estimated material costs are anywhere from $26,000 to $33,000, largely depending on if you choose to do the extra bedroom or not.

The plans are $695.

Appliances

There’s enough room for everything you need, including washer and dryer, full range with oven, microwave and a dishwasher.
