Many things to like – the kitchen is particularly lovely. Not enough closet space for me, but then I haven’t embraced the whole “downsizing” thing as wholeheartedly as I know I’ll have to before long! But one thing I couldn’t handle – the couch is facing the front door? From, like, 3 feet away? I think these folks must be spending 99% of their time outside, since aside from the bed there is no comfortable place for 2 people to hang out together! Looks like one person can sit in a reasonably comfortable chair while watching the other one work in the kitchen, but that’s it. Don’t think I could handle this space on my own, much less sharing with someone else. Even if I adored him. But it is beautiful and cozy in its way, and they look very happy with it, which is the main thing.

Adorable and well thought out. And I really like to get to see a tiny house that is lived in, permanently, by real people, with stuff and clothes and utensils.
Empty ones for sale or holiday homes to rent don’t show how people fit their daily and material life into a tiny home.

yup… i agree with stine, well said. capturing the life of small living is inspirational to me, helps me stay motivated. we are constantly seeking ways to improve our small lifestyle, i suppose it is much like a hobby. i liked the use of a conventional camera lens, i was able to see what the space actually feels like. it’s tiny but hey, life is filled with many seasons, if it works today let tomorrow take care of itself. thanks for the peek into the life of successful tiny living.

They never home I suppose? But I agree the “living room” design would never work…it was an after thought…I would need more square footage., even during the times when a person IS home wouldn’t they want to be comfortable!? Outside of home lovely.

Very nicely done tiny home, especially the kitchen, shelving, wood and color.

The problem with ALL the tiny houses that have the recessed front door with porch is that such a layout takes up too much of the “great room.” That’s why I prefer the tiny house with a door on the long side between the kitchen and living room. That way, you have the entire width of the living room to place a long sofa.

I love the style of this one. It’s also great to see a tiny as it’s being lived in and how they pull it all together! ?

They did a great job on their happy tiny home. I agree with the door placement — an accident waiting to happen — you can not have someone sitting on that couch and the door opening into them at the same time — that one part is poor design — I would put the door where it usually is in this type design and that is where they show the chair — then you could turn that couch around and move the chair over. I like their closet system and the ladder attached to the bookcase — at least that is how it appears. I also agree that it is helpful to see a unit that is actually lived in by real people with real lives and things to deal with. Enjoy your home for years to come.

Yes I always love seeing them “lived in.” Not only are they cozier, they show what it’s really like!

I really like how they used raw material on the exterior as well as some painted. I’m finishing up on my THOW and wish I didn’t paint my exterior. I’m also still looking for a place to park/live in Colorado so if any one can help me I’d appreciate it. Thanks

Wow. this is small. What would I have done differently. I would have added a sliding glass door (but while moving…having plywood on the outside possibly?) right where those two chairs are at the entrance or two French doors, left and rite, that open up in opposite directions to the outside. Everything else is great…the 2 chairs are great…I just love large windows.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a deck pull out from UNDER the house right at the door way?

It would have to be thinner than the wheels are to fit between them, but perhaps!
