I know, it doesn’t look like a tiny or micro house… It just looks like a roof, right?

It looks more like pole house than tree house!

But “pole house” just doesn’t have the same ring 😉 — Tiny House Talk Team

Sleeping pod on a pole? Very peculiar. I wonder what inspired them to build this way.

They have to build tree houses this way. Cherry trees are not big enough to put a tree house in. No big trees make yours with a pole.

Reminds me of the movie, Flight of the Navigator. Very odd tree houses!

…because using the space underneath would ruin the aesthetic of it all. It’s a getaway place for a day or 2. Each unit is really just a sleeping zone… and that is Japanese style which means tamati mats on the floor.

      From Reddit page about these.

There were 8 ‘treehouses’ in all, arranged like a campsite. Showers, kitchens etc were in a central block.

If those are tree houses then I’m king of the world.

    Japan!

We are deeply in love with the people and their cultures. Two of our crew taught school near Nagasaki, and the cultural differences are astounding. Different from anyplace else in this particular universe.

How different? Anytime day or night, five minutes channel-surfing will convince you the entire country is on LSD.

Maybe it is something in the water.

No kidding. LSD. And they say the same thing. As one example, they are planning a 900-meter (half-mile) long articulated bus. Six lanes wide. On stilts. So other vehicles can pass it during stops. Underneath.

Or how about glamping in a pyramid on a stick.

Tiny country. Tiny cars. Tiny pyramids. Too much fun.

This is sort of like a campground with sleeping pods. It is unique for sure, and I hope it isn’t for full-time living, but rather an overnight stop. Appears that you’d need a bath house somewhere close along with a cafe. Unique for sure!

Such a great idea. This way the space beneath the house remains availiable. The essence brought back to elegant simplicity.

The Japanese are just so innovative, building a artificial tree and then putting a house on it …! I would have called these bonsai tree houses though…

    Not a tree house !

    • Alex
      October 19, 2016, 2:48 pm

I think they call it treehouses because they’re shaped like trees but you’re right technically not a treehouse…I should’ve at least put quotes around treehouse!
