Tiny Round Cabin in Florence

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a tiny round cabin in Florence, Oregon. It’s like a hybrid between a yurt and a cabin, isn’t it?

It’s a pretty cool design, in my opinion, but what do you think? Would you design/build something kind of like this?

Tiny Round Cabin in Florence: Yurt/Cabin?

Images via Vacasa/HomeAway

You don’t get to see a round-cabin like this everyday, do you?

It’s so beautiful! It’s basically a yurt built like a cabin.

Inside, it feels like a yurt-cabin!

This is such a super-awesome build, isn’t it?

Everything’s perfect in this round cabin.

From the floors to the ceilings…

There’s even a kitchenette with a small bar.

And dinner seating, too!

How cool is that?

The kitchen is a little bigger than I thought.

It’s all an open-layout.

So it lives like a large studio!

How do you like it? Could you live in a space like this?

The bathroom, of course is private.

Full-size shower with bathtub.

Stacking washer and dryer.

This is cool!

A tiny round cabin!

Have you ever considered building one?

Might be a difficult project, but could be worth it!

Because it’s a rental home we don’t have any access to that information. But, you could always contact the folks renting it out and see if they know if you’d like to replicate it.

Because it’s a rental I’m afraid I don’t know where you’d get the plans. Unless you contact them and asked if they had some 🙂

Isn’t this the same as a yurt ? I like everything but the tile in the shower, it looks like it’s alive.

Yes 🙂 It’s just solid-sided, which is precisely how I want one someday.

It doesn’t even come near to the concept of a tiny house, or THOW…..! And are we supposed to be looking to move out of the country now…? I’m sorry, but I don’t get the idea here at all…! We need affordable housing that we can down size into or start out in life with out getting deeply in debt, or being able to get out from under the heavy bills and live as we want with out going in debt….! This is just a French pipe dream, lol….!

I get Affordable Housing magazine–maybe you should check it out. There are many more types of affordable housing than tiny homes. Otherwise you may have to collect many more cans…

Yep. Hopefully it doesn’t leak like canvas ones that are pretty much the norm these days for Yurts. Unless your from Mongolia where I believe they are made out of Yak hides.

Downsizing isn’t just for lower income people. I have been watching all these tiny houses for a few years. I have been debt free for a few years. In my area, zoning is a problem. If not for that, I would be living in a 300-400sf house. So, I for one am interested in all the homes shown on here.

Since when is Florence, Oregon out of the country? Or French? Zachary, you have been on this site long enough to know that Alex shows more than tiny houses on wheels, which some of us cannot live in. As far as cost, Oregon is expensive to live in, but if this was built in a cheaper state the cost would not be as high. 🙂

Once again, Zachary, everything on this site doesn’t need to be “affordable”. We like to see ideas of all kinds, and combine what suits our situation.

There are lots of yurt builders in the Pacific Northwest. I’m sure a google search would maybe even help you narrow down the builders of this one.
And if you click on the link for more info, you can read the reviews of people who have rented this yurt. Very highly rated.
(That’s Pacific Northwest in the USA. Oregon. Lewis and Clark territory.
I don’t know why anyone would think this is in France…)

Lovely! I’ve always liked yurts since they are much cheaper than (plus you get more sq footage) regular
TH’s though I can’t say how much the wood here adds to the price since I’m speaking of those without wood on outside. Plus very quick to ” build,” less than a week, and does not need a contractor.

Yes a yurt with the canvas exterior is very easy to build and move 🙂 Yurts are the best. They are what got me into tiny houses.

Love this yurt! Now this is how I would have mine, once my plan for buying land and building one comes true. So cozy and serene all around.

I love, love, love this house. The only thing lacking for me is a stove and oven in the kitchen and a free-standing fireplace. And, yes, I would change the tile around the bathtub.

Only thing I would change- there is plenty of unused space for much more kitchen.

I have to say, this is the first round house that I like, love in fact and would consider…not full time living, but when I win the lottery, I would very much spend money money on this design at my lake front and wooded property.

Patricia, I think I see a stove in the lower right of the picture of the kitchen. Absolutely love this, however I would add a closet & may e small deck off kitchen.
