Russia Times published an article and video on tiny houses as a growing real estate trend.
It’s titled Dreaming Big, Living Small: Tiny House Movement Gaining Real Estate.
I’ve always realized that tiny houses aren’t for everyone. That there will always be a need for regular- and even- large homes.
The issue is that there are lots of folks out there who’d like to live and pay for a smaller home, but the options aren’t there.
And I think that’s why this ‘movement’ is gaining steam. People are sick and tired of getting taken advantage of financially so they’re coming up with solutions so that they can get ahead.
After all, isn’t that what the American dream is all about, anyway? It’s about getting what you want out of this life. And if you’ve got an over-sized home and mortgage, that’s likely a daunting challenge.

I believe that tiny- or even just smaller- homes are the most important part of this solution for single people, families, and also the elderly because of their potential affordability. Some people are going completely mortgage-free within a year or two.
Can you imagine how different your life might be without a mortgage or rent? Or even if it were just significantly less?

For most of us who are interested in these little homes, our challenges lie in absurd building codes, overpriced studios, and a general lack of small housing. But it seems as if we are making more and more headway every day.
I’d like to see this trend continue and even spill over to the world of developers and I’d like to see them building out small, affordable, and efficient homes that meet the needs of humans today.
Housing that’s affordable yet luxurious in its simplicity. Communities that serve this small housing need while keeping things organized and under control through associations.
I’d like to see trailer parks that have been converted into beautiful tiny house villages with condominium-like associations to prevent issues and offer ownership of land. You know, like 55+ communities.
We need more buildings, houses, people, leaders, and communities that understand the environment and for this reason find ways to reuse, reduce and recycle.

The sharks are already trying to take advantage of this market as well. I’ve now seen second city motel property; repainted,renamed and voila! It is now ‘small living flats’ selling at an enormous price. The ads in the blogs are the same: rundown old fish camps on dirt cheap property.. and now they are trying to sell them as tiny houses for a outrageous prices.
Nice to see a housing area they cannot get their teeth into for the long haul.
