What is this “push notification” that has a popup for “don’t allow” that’s impossible to push, with the “allow” highlighted? Irritating enough to make me close the window and unsubscribe.

Everybody with a website wants to send you notifications these days–it’s not just this site. With Chrome (and probably the other browsers, but i don’t know how to do it on them) you can go into Settings from the menu, scroll to the bottom, click Advanced, scroll down a bit more to Content Settings, then click Notifications, and change the Blocked setting to on, and you won’t see them any more.

I’m not really interested in what amount to advertisements for vacation rentals. The interest here in in Tiny Houses to *live* in permanently and creating communities around this more ecologically friendly way of living.
Giving a boost to capitalists will not help the movement to change zoning in regions to allow Tiny House communities, not as “vacation” rentals not as a novelty or short merely term housing, but in an overhaul of our wasteful and unsustainable culture. Let these resorts *pay* for ads.

yes, it is advertising…promoting a tiny house resort….much like each builder here advertises their model to sell to you…

consider please, that many people have not ever considered a tiny house, this is a way to gain their interest and enthusiasm….check out a tiny and decide they can live in one.

if the owner of this website chooses to “charge” the resort, builders, or any other entity for content, that is certainly his decision (and none of mine).

Besides, why should only residential homes be able to reduce their carbon footprint and help us become a more sustainable society that’s better for the planet?

While the more exposure it gets the more normal it will seem to people and that’ll help reduce resistance to the idea of them.

Much of the resistance to Tiny Houses comes from biases our society has formed to anything that is not familiar enough to be considered normal to the point it can automatically be considered bad and wrong just because it is considered different.

While capitalism has its uses… For example, this holds the potential of making it easier for some people to afford them as some builders use these resorts and rental properties as a means to be able to offer deals like rent to own…

If you don’t need to move into your home right away then you can opt to make it a rental property that will pay for itself and then you drive away with it to wherever you want at the end of that period.

Additionally, tiny house communities can use this to help finance the community and allow visitors to explore a area where tiny homes are the norm and not an oddity… Just like many tourist destinations where the people living there take advantage of the tourism.

It at the very least gives an additional form of equity that can be leveraged and helps alleviate some concern about the lack of appreciation value people can expect from owning a Tiny House and make getting financial assistance easier.

Consider, our society has invested 30-40% of our entire economy/net worth into real estate. This has imbued an invested interest in property value that is the root cause of many of our housing issues and is a self perpetuating cycle that traps many into the traditional housing market.

So, like the old idiom with the carrot and the stick and similar sayings, it’s basically easier to get people to consider something new if you have something they may like to lead them away from what they are used to…

    Great achievement that is only achieved when the commitment is at high level. Conclude with a phrase by the Baroque painter and writer Salvatore Rosa: “Great teacher is experience;
Of our guide in this low shore,
    Mother of truth and prudence.”….

I think this is an awesome idea just like other tiny homes are on airbnb…a great way to introduce people to the tiny house movement and help them to see if it is something viable for them for full time living.

These are great. But I wish they were for sale on this property, instead of rent. We need more places to put homes.

Very true, the hardest hurdle is simply finding a place to put your Tiny House…

Some builders are addressing this by helping to establish communities and rental properties where you can live, but a lot still has to be done before it becomes something you can count on being available.

In the meantime, all the models in this vacation resort are models you can actually buy from the builder. So they can provide a means to test them out before choosing a particular builder’s design… Assuming you don’t go completely custom and make something completely unique… Or just to see whether a particular layout works for you or not before finalizing your design…
