I just went to their website, and live chatted with someone named Alissa. I asked about their tiny home inventory, but she had NO IDEA what I was talking about, or what tiny homes are.

Hi Fred! I just gave them a call and spoke to an older Southern gentleman who was very sweet and said that they are in fact selling Escape homes. I think you might have called the number for the car dealership instead of for the tiny house part. You can see the inventory here: http://www.duncanhyundai.com/exotic-new-inventory/index.htm and call them at 540-577-8502 🙂

Thank you for the update Natalie. Just an FYI: I did NOT telephone them. As I said I live chatted online via their pop-up Chat window. So if anyone else wants to contact them they should use the telephone as Natalie discovered.

Thanks Fred and Natalie for checking on that! Maybe their live chat employees don’t know they carry tiny houses yet lol!

I’m not surprised, until just a few years ago Escape Homes was strictly a Park Model RV manufacturer and they still sell Park Models and all their products are RVIA certified…

So many of their sales people think they’re selling only RV’s… Only fairly recently has this started to change and now they have started to offer options like being able to make changes to the layout of a given model and emphasize how it can appeal to the Tiny House market… But this was like a month ago that it started so probably not everyone in the company has gotten the proverbial memo yet…

The company’s multiple web sites and multiple youtube channels probably don’t help either as they don’t appear to be all maintained by the same team…

But their latest models are very nice and well built… They just need to get more organized with the company itself…

In the case of this dealership, they are purchasing these like a car dealership purchases cars — at wholesale and then selling them (from what I can tell). So they are not directly affiliated with Escape. Thus the different website.

Escape is leading the way in how to best sell their tiny homes. They’ve are going to adopt the business model that RV sellers use. It’ll work. A space is best understood when you can walk around it, feel it and see it. Wish them good luck.

I agree, Elle. Makes it a lot easier to decide what you love or not.

With out any doubt, Escape Traveler XL has to be my #1 favorite tiny house of all time…! Their so dam expensive though, and at $78,000.00 for the XL model, I know I will never own one… But I know someone who is building a close runner up to the styling of the Escape Traveler XL, who I have contacted, and he tells me depending on exactly what I want, he would build me one for less then half of what the cost of a Escape Traveler XL’s would cost me…. And again even lower if I have him use recycled materials to build the home of my dreams… But at this point in life I would settle for almost anything even resembling an Escape Traveler….! I’m getting to old to be picky… LoL…!

On one aboriginal reserve, EVERYONE has to have a job…and it doesn’t have to pay, but they have to be able to say they have a job…like bee keeping, quilt making, shed making, fixing toys or cars, etc. I never thought of a tiny house for a business. Great idea. There is this one old sagging house, an old general store from the 1920’s and a couple converted it into a small coffee bar which mite hold 7 or 8 and on the way out they can purchase wine or liquor, milk or bread.

Wow what great ingenuity on that couple’s part!

I drove down to this dealership last weekend to see the Escape tiny homes. Nothing beats seeing them in person, lol. I discovered that I didn’t like the feel of the Vintage XL at all, but *loved* the Traveler XL. And I’m thinking the Vista GO would make a cool writer’s retreat.

They also have a used Tumbleweed model, and I’ve gotta tell you, it suffers in comparison to the brand-new Escape models. 😉
