I would like to see not just the square footage but the length height and width of the tiny houses that are posted but also the floor plan. Some of the photographers the ways that they shoot the films leave you scratching your head as to what you are looking at . A floor plan and dimensions would do so much more . thank you sincerely deb

What a beautiful tiny house! What a beautiful use of space! What an amazing bargain per dollar! If I were looking for a tiny house in your area I would be so all over this one. I honestly think this is the best I’ve seen to date. Mostly because of the amazing amount of thought put into the use of space. If we eventually purchase a tiny house for our son we will be contacting you, and you alone!

I really think that your house is awesome. A little dark with all the stained wood, but very cosy. Beautiful woodwork. Congratulations! Lene

      Thanks!

I’m currently in the process of building a second one that will be similar to this one, but one of the changes will be that I’ll be putting in clear-coated natural wood. 🙂

      Thanks again,

Beautiful home! Thank you for sharing the mechanical and storage ideas. This home is definitely being bookmarked in my favorites. Love the elevated office, the storage, the full size bathtub, the shed roof and the planning to make it a great home.

    Hi !!!!
Your tiny home is absolutely beautiful !!! I have been on line researching tiny homes for a long time. I am very critical, not in a bad way, and your home is truly the very best I have seen. I am someone who would never buy a tiny home because I do not feel that the majority of people building them really knows what they are doing. It would be difficult to trust people who mean well and find out they didn’t build it as well as they should have and then want to pass it on to someone who doesn’t have a clue. I feel sorry for anyone purchasing such a home. However, in your case I am totally convinced that your tiny home is built in a safe well constructed way especially when you go through such detail in your video during your tour of the heating, water etc. operations. I wish I was in a position to purchase your tiny home because I would !!!

Right now my apartment has been flooded because of a fire upstairs. I have been in a hotel for five weeks and just came back to attempt moving to another apartment across the street. I am only here because I became very ill and lost everything I worked 40 plus years for…I had a nice little condo, savings and a 401k…that has all been lost. Therefore, I am looking for an alternative to living somewhere forever and not having to move again.
I wish I was in the position to do this right now because your home is a home I would absolutely love to live in. I wish you the VERY BEST OF LUCK and hopefully someday I can hire you to build my tiny home …..take good care, Karen

Thank you for your kind words! 🙂

Sorry to hear about your condo and feeling ill; that’s quite unfortunate. 🙁

p.s. just wanted to clarify what I stated above about not wanting to purchase a tiny house because I do not feel that some folks know enough about what they are doing……I did not mean this comment for people like builders and those who are absolutely well versed in building such structures. I meant that I would not feel safe in just a normal human being building their first tiny home and hoping it comes okay. I would purchase one through a professional builder in a heartbeat !!! and I would purchase yours because of the knowledge you apparently have when you are walking folks through your video. I just wanted to make my point clear because there are many professional builds out there that are beautiful !!!!

I love what you have built. The only thing I would change would be the wood color. It makes the home look so dark. Also I did not see a stove. Do you cook, or microwave everything that you don’t cook in the oven? Just wondering. Nice home though.

      Thanks!

I’m currently building a second tiny home that is very similar to this one, but will have clear-coated natural wood instead of the darker wood. 🙂

Oh, and we use a plug-in two burner stovetop that stores away when we’re not using it…..giving us that much more countertop for times when you don’t need burners.

This home is one of the best, REALLY nice! You were able to include everything needed except the washer/dryer. So livable, I love it.

Love the exterior. I like exteriors that have 2 sidings/colors.
The price is excellent for what it is. a broom closet? Thats rare in a tiny house. All that fabulous closet and storage space makes it very livable. needs an oven and a w/d, though.
Are my eyes fooling me or are those real wood windows?
The wood is stained way too dark for me, though. I dont know about the mechanics of a house, but it all looks really good.

      Thanks!

Those are real wood windows. Beautiful windows!

A few people feel the same way about the dark wood. I’m currently in the process of building a second THOW and that one will have quite a bit clear-coated natural wood to appeal to those that like that look. 🙂

      Thanks,

Beautiful! I am curious if you only build your designs or if you offer custom designs too? I’m retiring this year and want to go “Tiny.” And ironically NC will be the new place to call home. This home gives me the feeling of a Craftsman design, which I love. A few personal tweeks and it would be perfect! Thanks for posting.

Right now I’m only doing my designs….but if it were just a couple of tweeks then I may be amendable to a custom design in the future.

I concur much with many of earlier comments. Most profoundly -I too have been researching and looking at every new THoW that hits the internet for a few years now, for me personally, this is one thee most ideal and suited to my functional and esthetic needs … yes it’s dark, but some of us like that rich, deep, enveloped look and feeling of the Mission era in design and architecture. You two have done a stunning job of efficient and esthetically pleasing design here! I am also another individual who has taken a great loss, I have been unemployed and unemployable for a few years, I am planning / trying to build a THoW with mostly salvaged-obtained materials, for as little cost as possible. Part of my love for THoW’s is that they be extremely cost-friendly … even with a budget for 65k to buy a tiny house on wheels, I’d never dream of it -until I saw your THoW -worth every penny and I believe very reasonably priced! I too would like to know the trailer length that was not given in either the article of video clips. I also would love to know if I could purchase ‘simple’ plans (not as detailed as a construction set), to obtain the basic schematics, so that I could figure out how to essentially reproduce this layout / build. A home office that can be set up and left / is not ‘dual’ space, is a necessity for me, and you have designed such a unique area here! I can not say enough in regards to the visual interest created in this design / layout. Wide open THoWs feel are great, and when you start packing them with more ‘rooms’ and storage space they can feel very cramped – here you have accomplished an ‘enveloped’ feeling. Truly wonderful! Thank you for sharing, and if I had the financial resources, I wouldn’t think twice about having you build my home … this is something in all my findings I’ve not run across until now. Much success to you!

      Thank you, Lynne. 🙂

We did put A LOT of thought, blood, sweat, and tears into this build – worth every minute of it, too. Most importantly, we had fun building it and watching it come together.

So true about the wood color. My wife and I like darker woods. Also, we wanted more variation than your standard tiny house that has natural (lighter) wood – we used 6 different stains (fairly close in color so that it didn’t look like a circus but far enough apart in hue to give it fluidity) on the built-ins and ceiling. We find it to feel more cozy….especially at night when we dim down the sconces.

The trailer is 20 feet. The house has a 1ft cantilever over the front and a 3ft cantilever off the back; bringing the total length of the house to 24ft.

I will have plans ready to sell for this build soon, but they will be very detailed – outlining not only the framing, electrical, and plumbing aspects, but also all the built-in specs, as well. Trying to reproduce this THoW with basic schematics wouldn’t be easy. There are a lot of details that weren’t covered in the videos.

Thanks again for your comment. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Have fun with your build. 🙂
