If you ask me there’s nothing like the wilderness, wildlife, and tiny homes. It’s the best medicine besides laughter. 🙂

Glad to see they have a fire extinguisher–they are going to need it! The cabinet –wooden—within mere inches of the fireplace–is scary as are the pillows etc jammed in there. And WHY are there refractory bricks holding the FIREPLACE DOORS CLOSED? Something not quite right about the install and planning on that.

Having heated two houses exclusively with wood for over 30 years–I have seen a few things happen with wood stoves–like logs shifting and landing against the doors; sparks flying out that were not seen and lodged between couch cushions that were farther away than the recommended 36″ for flammables—wood get hot enough to ignite surrounding the fireplace on the walls. This is a firetrap waiting to ignite.

    Cute but dangerous.

I totally agree Comet. Drywall – however high the fire certification – around the fireplace is crazy, even if the inner cavity is properly filled with the relevant insulation. There is nothing wrong with using secondhand equipment in good working order, but this fire seems way too big for the space. I have had coal fired stoves of this kind in two homes. Both houses were 3 bedroom family homes and both fires were half this size.
Pretty building that needs more planning.

Hello, Thanks for the comments. Our website has been updated with recent photos of the tiled fireplace. The wood cabinets, facing the fireplace are covered with dura-rock, tile cement board and tile. The old photos of the fireplace were from it was still under construction.
