Tiny Cabin in Delhi, New York

This post contains affiliate links.

An artist and a musician couple built this tiny cabin as an escape in Delhi, New York.

Kim creates and sells calendars, prints, prisms, and wedding decorations through her website and in various shops in New York, Texas, and California.

They were inspired by photos of hand built homes from the 60’s and 70’s. Everything that you see was done by them and their friends and family.

What you see here is the result of four years worth of work (and it is still not 100% complete).

As you might imagine, they’ve learned quite a bit of carpentry skills along the way. They started with no experience whatsoever but learned as they went thanks to friends and family.

The tiny cabin features stained glass windows, a rustic feel all around, and plenty of musical instruments.

Cool little organ by the window that completely matches the rest of the place.

I love the hatchet on the wall. 🙂

The kitchen is small but has everything that you need–a little refrigerator, mini oven, magnetic knife rack, and plenty of storage.

What a great little house! Any idea what the outside dimensions are?

    Decorate:

*Try a decorative mattress and cushions on the daybed.
*Try decorative, pull-out storage boxes/baskets under the daybed.
*Rather than upper kitchen cupboards, place decorative dishes and glasses vertically on narrow wall shelves.
*Store eating/cooking utensils in a colored jar, vase or basket.
*Try decorative kitchen cupboard doors, knobs and hinges.
*Add a window sheer of color.
*Add a big vase of wildflowers to the window sill.

Stained glass definitely really adds magnificence to a dwelling, and it really is in fact not that complicated to mend as soon as one has learned how.

I too am in Delhi, ny. I am beginning my journey into tiny homes. I was wondering about local ordinances and rules. Who did you have to talk with down town?
