This is The Stargazer, a Micro Cylinder Room in the Woods designed for — you guessed it — stargazing!

This adorable tiny space includes nothing more than a huge skylight, two comfy chairs and an itty bitty wood stove to heat a kettle of tea. It was built by Echo Living, and sits in the woods around Ardgour Estate’s Cuil Moss Cottage in the West Highlands of Scotland. Sign me up!

From Echo Living:

Our first Woodland Room has been specially fitted out for stargazing and as a wildlife hide too, but it can be designed to offer a variety of options including a garden sauna or music pod. We can customise the design with options for glazing including rooflight size, slot windows, larger windows, or patio doors if preferred.
We can offer options for timber cladding and curved decking can be supplied to compliment the building. The interior can be fitted out with a wood burner for a cosy room , or detailed for use as an outdoor sauna cabin with stove and curved benches. More about the Stargazer.

Okaay! I would have to say it might be a great getaway to relax and read or meditating!

Really neat… but is that wood stove safe for indoor use?…

Probably if they put it there 🙂 Most wood stoves are for inside use.

Looks neat, but I am not to impressed. You need a larger circle to create a more desirable living space. Like Kitchen , bedroom and bathroom. Other wise all you have is a natural living space with nothing more than a heated seating area with a sky light.

It’s not supposed to be a living space — it’s designed solely for stargazing. There is a guest house on site where folks can vacation, and then head over here to enjoy the stars 🙂 Just an idea of cute itty bitty spaces.

Nice. I would add a hammock. I love stargazing. But when it’s freezing this place would be a nice change.
To me tiny houses or living it’s not always permanent.

Yes! It allows for stargazing even in the winter-time, which is good because it gets dark at 3 p.m. in December in Scotland! Gar…

yeah, I’d ditch those chairs, put up a hammock and a partition with a lil porta potty.

That’s an idea 🙂 I was thinking a tiny bed would be nice!

    I like it.

About half of the annual meteor shows happen in winter. This would make viewing them really comfortable. Even during the Perseids shower in August it can be a bit chilly outside in the early morning.

I wouldn’t know what to say about this tiny House… But as someone else had said something about meteor showers, quickly comes to mind an observatory, they sell a pretty decent telescope dome on line that I think with some small modifications would work wonderfully on this little tiny house… Best of luck to those who wish to build this structure as it is got to be the tiniest I have seen yet, and I would think hard to make any thing really worth wild with it….

It is a great start. What would I have done differently? I would have had placed it on a bed of stone topped with 4 – 6 inches of cement (a code requirement for sheds due to rat/mice in Canada, right?) I would have added a back door and would have built it large enough to accommodate a 3 ft door so that, later on I could add another slab and use it as a front entrance. I love it cause I use to climb a tree to read a book, or write stories. This is definitely, to close out the world, and read or write. Kindred spirits…carry on. I do believe you should have a fire proof sheet of tin or marble under that stove. Gosh, I hate to leave…it is adorable.

What a great little cabin! How relaxing – a walk in the woods, a cup of tea, chatting & star gazing. Love it!
