The Monocle Wind River Tiny Home with Amazing Bathroom!

About the Monocle Tiny House

The Monocle tiny home was a California couples dream that we were fortunate enough to bring to reality for them.  This 24′ tiny home is built 10′ wide to accommodate a bed on the main level while still keeping a spacious feel. The bathroom was one of the main focuses on this build and features a full size soaking tub, tile wet bath complete with rain shower head and hand held, floating sink, recessed mirror and composting toilet.  The home also features a custom his/hers pull out closet that offers 8 feet of total hanging space with lots of shelving space underneath, all illuminated by LED lights.  The clean lines, mix of white and warm tones, and a few rustic touches make this home one of a kind and truly unique.  We started with a blank sheet of paper and worked closely with the customer to design and craft exactly what they were looking for! This turn key home cost around $76,500 as pictured. Contact us if you are interested in your own custom version of The Monocle.

Its hard to believe that 18″ can make such a difference! BEautiful home.

I really love this tiny! Part of its appeal is the extra 18″ as Michael N observed, but much of its glamour comes from the fabulous finishes used throughout. And that closet space with the gorgeous doors. Not to mention the bathroom! But alas, with glamour comes a heart stopping price tag.

I just love this and I don’t usually love white! The round window in the bathroom is super. I would probably hang sheers or something. Love the wood, is that tile? I am so ignorant when it comes to woods, tiles, supplies, etc. 😮 I do love the outside especially. I would need a bigger couch myself, something super comfortable.

One of the nicest designs ever! The outside too. The french door, the lamps, the windows, the intricate roof,… much nicer than the costlier Escape’s!
And the inside, wow again! The pullout closet, ingenious. Kitchen and bath on opposite ends, finally! Even the fold-out couch is extra special (but I wouldn’t call it a downstairs “bed”).
In fact the only thing that disturbs me is the cameraman’s foolish lighting, it doesn’t allow to see what’s really there, the beauty is diminished, not enhanced. Was toughest for kitchen and bath. My view.

This is a pretty THOW, but I would want this as a foundational small home with a separate bedroom, maybe two built onto it with no loft. Also, I would enlarge the living room and put in a fireplace. However, I LOVE the bathroom. It is sheer perfection!!! I know where I would be spending at least an hour of every day—in that beautiful bathtub. Lovely home, Natalie. Thanks for showing it to us.

Anyone know the brand of the tub?

But why? You said you don’t even like baths. Rather redundant having one “just” because you like the look of it.

As has been said before me — wow and wow again a beautiful build and I think 10 ft. wide is the only way to go even if you need a special permit to tow on the road. The bath is terrific and while I do not take baths it is nice to have a tub to soak in when those muscles are sore. The only down side to this is the kitchen — I have no idea where the refrigerator is — could not tell with the lighting, but the kitchen for me is too small and I want full size appliances. A beautiful and well done THOW.

Question about towing it – do you indeed need a special permit every time you tow on the road?

Yes, you would need to get a wide load towing permit for towing up to 10′. This is purchased for each state the house passes through. In most cases it’s a fairly cheap permit ($30-$50) that can be procured online. Nothing else is required. You wouldn’t want to built 10′ wide if you were planning to move the house a lot, but if you were only going to move the house once or twice in it’s lifetime, or even once every few years, them 10′ can make a lot of sense. You get quite a bit more space on the same trailer frame.

I dont think a ten footer requires an escort & follow vehicle like a a 12 or 14 ft do. You just need a permit and a visible WIDE LOAD sign.

This is one of the best tiny homes. Its about time that more homes are built on a 10ft width. The reason for this, is for the tiny amount you have to pay for overwidth permits, its well worth building such a home, especially if its not back East, where they are more stringent regarding such homes on the highway. Again, very nice home!

This is hands down the most beautiful tiny home build I have ever seen. It’s not just only the size, it’s the quality and craftsmanship that has been put into it as well. It’s a small home that really doesn’t feel like one. With most tiny homes there always seem to be sacrifice in one way or another. There are a few adjustments that I would make for myself but that only comes from personal preference such as a larger slimeline fridge and a washer/dryer built into the kitchen. I have to say that in a few years when I will be looking at retirement I will be seriously looking at this build! Well done indeed! Would love to see a video walkthrough to get a better sense of actual space.
