This is The Modern, a Tiny House Hotel at Tiny Digs in Portland.

The build is just one of many you can stay in at Tiny Digs, but it’s certainly one of the more unique! Instead of your typical loft bedroom, this one has a clear loft living room, with the cozy bed on the ground-floor. Although not decked-out for full-time living, this looks like a great place to spend a weekend in Portland and try out a tiny house!

Take the stairs to the epic loft lounge!

Here’s your cozy bed for tons of relaxing. Love the orange.

Looking towards your kitchenette and the bathroom.

The fun bubble decals are perfect!

Imagine hanging out up here!

The shower stall has that same awesome bubble print.

I love that weathered wood look.

Those sink faucets are my favorite, and look! A tiny deck outside.

From Tiny Digs:

A show-stopping, clear acrylic loft floor suspended over the main bed area is what makes the Modern tiny house stand out from the rest. We shook things up a bit in this tiny and put the seating area up in the loft and the sleeping area on the main floor. From your pillow you have an open view up through the clear floor to the “bubbly” high ceiling. A clean, sleek grey interior is peppered with shouts of orange from the funky pendant light, the shower walls and metal beams.——- The Modern tiny also has a couple of extra-yummy bathroom features; a larger shower with a rainfall shower head, an LED faucet, and see though wall. Clear stairs provide access to the living loft where you can lounge in a leather chair a get a bird’s eye view of the common space.——- As with all the tiny houses at Tiny Digs, the Modern has running water, electric heat and air-conditioning, a cooking area, a flush toilet and a hot shower. —— The Modern is 150 sq ft and can comfortably accommodate 1-2 guests. The main floor queen bed is out-fitted with luxury linens from Comphy. Note that the stairs are narrower than a standard 3′ stairway, but the rise and run are comfortable and a sturdy handrail is there for support.***2 night minimum on weekends*** $145/night

The hanging sitting loft is kind of cool, but for me, it should be facing a television at least. A murphy bed would be more practical..or even a sofa bed…for everyday life. Interesting idea for a hotel room, though. 🙂

Yea as a hotel it’s definitely something fun and different!

The loft is a disaster waiting to happen. No railing and look at the lack of walk space over the open space. Just getting to the couch, given a late night or in the dark and what keeps you from stepping on what you think is plexy and ends up being air!
Fix that and I thought, put a projection screen over the window show you could show movies and watch them sitting on the couch… that would be cool. Or, tighten up the stairs, expand the loft into the bedroom, and use that open space down stairs for a generous living area.

Maybe just me getting old but that looks dangerous, but fixable.

Although I, too, would like a railing on the loft, I don’t think you’d ever really need to get to it in the dark? Unless like you said you wanted to watch a movie and couldn’t turn off the lights from the loft, but without a projector screen I don’t think you can. The clear floor just freaks me out because I’m afraid of heights haha!

I agree that loft is just dangerous! If it were me, I’d remove it altogether and let the bed double as a couch 😀

        I think you’re right. That’s such a useful and attractive format.🙂

Weird. But I like seeing people try new ideas. I’d enjoy staying there to see how it feels in person.

Again nothing really jumps out at me, but a nice tiny house anyway… Best of luck with it…!

Must have VERY large screen television, and some kind of stove !!!

I think the stove is missing because it’s just meant as a hotel room 🙂
