Great living area with a couch and bar to the outside.

The secondary loft over the built-in storage area.

The kitchen of the Mio is beautiful. I love the windows.

I’m becoming a huge fan of wooden counter tops.

Let the outdoors in! Also, notice the hanging storage.

Loft bedroom with lots of windows.

Check out the floor plan below!

I like the siding with the dark insets on the exterior.

From their FAQ, their models start around $60K and go up to $85K or so with upgrades.

        Here’s a few others in those states…

For North Carolina, there’s also Compact Cottages, Aneides Tiny Homes, East Coast Tiny Homes, GreenBox Company (Container homes), Muddy Creek Manufacturing, Nanostead, and designer Aaron Maret sells plans through Pocket Shelter and I think Houses by Design is similar…

A little further in South Carolina, there’s Driftwood Homes and Carolina Sustainable Structures…

While in Virginia, there’s also N2Care (primarily on foundations but build small/tiny homes for accessibility and elderly needs), Nomad Tiny Homes (Herritage Tiny House), Tiny House Building Company and Timber Building Company makes tiny cabins…

Some local builders may also be willing to build a tiny house but won’t advertise as Tiny House builders… They’ll just willing to build anything the client wants within reason or may classify it as something else like accessory dwelling…

Thanks, James! I’m checking these out and adding them to the builder’s list now. 🙂

Hey Alex, while you’re at it, if you haven’t already, make note that Upper Valley Tiny Homes (Pleasant Grove, UT) has closed their doors… Any requests for one of their previous models will be forwarded to another builder (they didn’t specify who)…

On a less depressing note, there’s a interesting DIY being done by an Erin Adams… Her youtube channel is “Erin Adams: Living the Dream in a Tiny House!”

Her Tiny has a unique design where the stairs leading to the loft has a landing that’s basically it’s own room, will apparently serve as her dressing room/walk in closet space, and has plenty of storage below it that can be accessed from both inside and outside the house and the loft is a bit above it with skylight for extra headroom and she’s considering recessing the mattress for a few more inches up there…

It’s still being built and she’s just gotten past the dry-in stage but it should be a awesome THOW to report on once it’s finished…

There’s a few others of course, but hers was the most interesting design so far and worth keeping an eye on to see how it turns out…
