Terraform One Gooseneck THOW For Sale

This is Terraform One, a 250 sq. ft. gooseneck THOW built by a man with no previous construction experience who just wanted a simpler, sustainable life.

He’s now selling the house, but not because he’s given up tiny living. On the contrary, he’s gone tinier, downsizing to 32 sq. ft. stealth van that he used to travel the country. How cool! Check out the THOW below and take the video tour on the last page!

No loft in this awesome home!

If you like biking, this might be the THOW for you.

I like the kitchen — even the glass refrigerator is cool.

I love this bottle cap backsplash. Clever!

Have a guest? No problem! An extra bed right here.

Love the storage and plants in the bathroom.

Video: Terraform Tiny House Tour

From Terraform Tiny Homes:

Terraform One began as an attempt to live a sustainable life both financially, emotionally, and environmentally. I wanted a home I could afford and a life I could enjoy without waiting 30 years to retire. I spent close to two years planning Terraform One. Finally in September of 2015 the build of my first home began, and thanks to the SIPs style build and help provided by Artisan Tiny House, I was able to move in just 4 1/2 months later.

Terraform One was easily the biggest project I had ever taken on in my life. I had never designed a home before and only had basic tool knowledge going in. I was not special, I had no background in architecture or construction, but with some help from a few people who had built homes before, I was able to create my beautiful home.

I learned through building Terraform One, that outside of a few things that should be hired out (structural engineering, electrical, and gas) there’s no reason anyone can’t build their own home! No part of the home building process was that cognitively difficult and the lessons I learned through this DIY endeavor will stick with me for the rest of my life.

Since building Terraform One – I have had over 8,000 people through my home, I have been featured on HGTV, and have made so many life-long friends throughout the building process. Going tiny has little to do with the house, it’s about the lifestyle it brings.

I’m building one too, however I have had the worst time getting just plans. Would you be willing to pass along your architect, I only need the framing as I cannot afford the sips an mine is a 32′ 5th wheel. I have a rough sketch of how I want it. It’s not like yours, but the outside framing etc. may be similar. I just want to make sure mine is structurally sound and the weight is in the right place. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Yours looks great by the way. Love it!

Well that’s strange… everything I’ve heard tells me that SIP’s are cheaper and quicker to install. That’s all up costs including labour, not just the SIP price itself.

Anybody able to clarify on that from experience?

Hey Eric, to your question, though not from experience but (a little bit dated) research that’s also my understanding, with a caveat (or two). IF you can get SIPs locally, and the standardized sizes will work for your build. Once you add shipping any distance and custom dimensions the cost savings evaporate. Not factoring the other benefits (strength to weight, insulation, etc.) of course.

Pretty nice goose neck tiny house…! I kinda like the bedroom being up in front, and on the goose neck elevation instead of a loft….
