Teddybear Teardrop Camper: The All Affordable Micro RV

This post contains affiliate links.

After running into this teardrop camper by Teddybear Teardrops I just couldn’t help to share it with you.

I’m a big fan of teardrops because they’re easy and cheap to build. And they’re also easy and cheap to tow.

So even if you’re not doing well financially, chances are you can pull one of these off and still get to adventure with your family or significant other or even just by yourself!

It’s a great way to get around and see new things without completely emptying your wallet. And if you’re a beginner builder and want to get your first project under your belt, this may be the best way to go besides building furniture.

Otherwise there are plenty of folks out there who would be willing to build one for you at a pretty affordable price.

Nicely built. If I were to have a teardrop I would definitely rig up a screened and roofed enclosure that fit over the back where the galley is. It’s so much nicer to cook, eat or read without getting rained on or having a plague of wasps or skeeters hovering around. The overhead door provides some rain cover but not a lot.

Good idea Alice. Most all serious Fla trailer/RV people use such screened rooms and a great addition to any TH.

Because it’s clear finished wood one that covered the unit when stored would be smart. I build clear finished wood/epoxy boats, TH’s, MC’s and cars and a clear finish of most any kind is only good for 6 months in the sun in Fla, longer up north, so keep it covered when not being used.

My solution is a large awning that covers the unit and an outside shaded area for sitting out of the beating, hot, muggy, sun. ;^P

The awning will cut your AC bill by 50% as an added bonus itself worth it.

They did paint the top white for that reason as the roof gets it worse and cuts heat.

They do look cool but for just a little more you could have much more room and better aero.

I have wanted a tiny house for so long…and because money and I are not good friends…no matter what it seemed out of reach. I have recently been seriously looking at teardrops. I want something easily towable, and safe for my dog and I to sleep in. A tent just didn’t seem enough, as she’d be new to the whole thing. I found these teardrops during a latenight search and fell in love. (these or another by Hillcrest Teardrops also located in GA.) Hillcrest offers a “convertible” style, which I really like…like a screened in bed area..but my only concern with those is the same as owning a convertible…the top can easily be cut with not too much effort. But do love the idea of all the air flow. So, for solid ceiling/roof…I love these. (and as far a cost, much easier to swallow than some of the larger companies.) One day, I’ll have one…and you may not see me for a looooong while… 🙂
