No comments yet? That’s unusual. I think maybe everyone is afraid to say what I am thinking which is BLECH!!! I don’t like anything about this house except the property. And even on the listing you can’t really tell where the house IS. — And what is with the creepy bunker-looking thing that is not mentioned on the listing either. — NOT an inviting entrance that makes me think, “hmmm, I wonder what’s down here?” Nope, doesn’t make me think that at all.

    There, I have said it.

It’s not that bad, just a product of it’s time and somewhat dated. You could cute-ify it. Built in 1950, maybe last redecorated in the 70’s? Looks like something my dad would have liked. The listing says the downstairs is an open game room, so I’m guessing you open up the big doors on each side when you have a party and people can wander in and out easily. Probably designed for large family gatherings. The bunker thing is likely either a storm shelter or root cellar. Unless it’s a guest house for the less favourite relatives?

Yes outdated. Yes not my cup of tea. Yes, storm shelter, root cellar, good guess, but the thing is for sale!! In my opinion the listing should HAVE this information. — Just sayin’

I Love it. I would paint the outside and that’s about it. But the A frame is my dream home, and I know not many people care for them. A log cabin a frame. On a bit of land. With some water nearby so my dogs can swim. I’d be set for life…

I like a-frames. I always have. If I bought this one, I’d put in side windows on both sides of the ground floor, paint that fake brick in the kitchen white, repaint all of the outside red to some other color, and replace the basement barn doors with glassed french doors. I’m sure that little building in the back is either a storm shelter, a root cellar, or both. Other than those few changes, this looks like a fairly conventional a-frame to me. So to all you a-frame haters — quit hating!

I like it but……it’s a little scary dark, no? I would hate to be cooking in that brick wall kitchen so I’d add a window! I love the dated look though…..it’s groovy! 🙂

I think it is cute, but my limited mobility, age, and health, means until they make wheelchairs, and walkers that can climb stairs, and ladders, I couldn’t live in it. I am looking for small/tiny one story accommodations.

The comments made me LOL! So funny. The listing doesn’t say whether the plumbing and electrical systems have been replaced to meet current standards–critical. There’s no statement about an upgraded electrical box, either. The pricing is WAY off base. But hey, there’s granite (under weird brick). Potential buyers are supposed to miss the details and respond to the obvious, I suppose. I’m bruised just looking at the frig sticking out into the room. The sum of the house kind’a screams “flipping it”. The land is very nice, good trees with level gardening areas and enough space for a greenhouse. The house could be wonderful too had the seller done a better job.

Underground space creepy yes…should state what it’s for..the brick could be painted or just covered with a sheet of something? So as not to look from the 70’s and match the granite …

I like it. Very overpriced, but imminently updatable! Figure out a way to recess the fridge, paint out the brick & add more outlets in the kitchen, add real stone countertops, build a real (open) staircase… Voilà! The listing says there is a storm cellar, so I am assuming that is what the “creepy” thing is. Nice location off 35 to get to the airport in Ft. Worth.

With a tornado heading straight for your neighborhood – that storm room will save your life. Scary is no storm room in tornado country.
