Round Micro Cabin You Can Vacation

This post contains affiliate links.

When you walk into this cylindrical micro cabin you can immediately see the ladder to your left which leads you up to the loft.

Beyond that is a daybed with fluffy pillows in front of a beautiful, large round window. Across from that is your table and another window with beautiful views.

These big windows can open up so you can let the outside air in. Outside, nearby, there’s a fire pit you can enjoy. Or you can just relax on your own private deck.

To your right, as you walk in, is the kitchenette area. And the little door nearby leads to the tiny bathroom with a composting toilet and shower. So yes, just about everything you need for comfortable simple living. Do you think you can see yourself living simply in this little cabin on a full time basis? Just curious if you’d like to talk about that in the comments below.

I Love it.!!! My intention is to live in a tiny house within the next few years. I love having a bed below – I’m 72 now – and the loft for guests. I’m so looking forward to purging all my belongings and living in a place like this. It seems so much more roomy than the little rectangles. It appears there’s even a wood burning stove……….Wonder if it would work on a trailer…….hmmm

Lots of round windows from the inside but from the outside they are squared. ?????

They’re round in the back and square in the front which helps further define the different spaces. The only things missing are pictures of the back and bathroom, plus I’d love to know the square footage.

It’s an amazing use of a section corrugated grain silo. I love how they lined the interior with wood because it hides the industrial material and makes it more homey.

The interior decor touches put it over the top, definitely an A+ cabin and maybe a fully functioning tiny house for a single or a couple.

      Great find.

To me this place is what small homes are all about. Inviting, practical, cosy spaces made of readily available materials. And the location would appear to be just perfect!.

I must be older than previous commenters, because that looks like a short quonset hut. The former mayor of Honolulu and WW II veteran Frank Fasi sold them to people in Hawaii as affordable housing at the end of World War II. There are still a few around . Lot of retro charm, but hard to hang a picture.

Looking at it from the outside and then the interior, I was surprised at the amount of space (or maybe just the feeling of spaciousness) that there is. It’s tiny, but roomier than I thought it would be. Any loft with a ladder rather than stairs is totally useless to me.

This just goes to show you that affordable living can be had from practically anything. I personally love the design. It’s very unique and definitely breaks away from the other typical designs. I’ve been interested in this movement for a while now and it appears that SOME of these tiny houses are becoming like their much bigger brothers…..cookie cutter. I think it would do the movement well to custom design every home for the individual. Though it wouldn’t be as inexpensive to build then I am sure. It a pleasure to see some innovation here with this one. Now to make it just a little bigger for my needs.

What a great idea. Starting off with a structure is a brilliant idea.
I am wondering how you insulate and line a round structure though.
Also, if the tank were set into the deck without the bottom cut off, there would be loads of great underfloor storage.
    One of the best!

I noticed the doors are interesting… looks like if you are in it and somehow both doors get closed, you can’t get out! (the inner door opens into the hinge side of the outer/storm door)
