When tiny is too tiny, a park model (like this) might be the answer…

And yes, this park model is built like a cabin!

The double french door entry is nice.

With a park model, you get extra width and yet it’s still built on a trailer.

Corner fireplace that doubles as a TV stand.

Barstools in the kitchen.

A formal bedroom with low ceilings to make room for the upstairs loft area.

Nice that it has an AC here so you can breathe fresh air when you’re sleeping.

A sliding barn door reveals the bathroom.

Quite luxurious isn’t it?

Stacking washer and dryer nearby.

Staircase to access the second level.

Hand rails for security.

Spacious loft with plenty of room for a king-size bed.

And you get a nice view of the rest of the home from here. If this were not a park model (built on a trailer), you could build it much higher so you can stand up in the loft area.

View of the kitchen from the staircase.

And the rest of the home (including the porch).

Now THAT’S a tiny house two people can live in. Nicely done!! Perfect, even. What are the dimensions? Looks like 14′ x 28′. Plus the screened in porch, plus the outdoor deck…

I have a piece of land I could put something like that on – except the CC&R’s say a minimum of 1,000sf.

Park Model RV’s are typically 10-12 feet wide… Non-enclosed spaces like the porch/deck and spaces with less than 5 feet of headroom (lofts) are not counted towards the stated total square feet.

The 400 Sq Ft is the maximum they can go and still build them under the RV building code, any larger and then it will fall under the HUD building code, same as Manufactured Houses… So you will usually never see a Park Model RV larger than 400 Sq Ft.

This technically means they’re basically Travel Trailers made to look like Cabins/Cottages and those that use slide outs can still look like regular Travel Trailers.

But if the manufacturer does support HUD then they can go to 500 Sq Ft and up to 14 feet wide…

Though, if you’re up in Canada then you can go much bigger… I don’t recall exactly but it’s something like an additional 278 sq ft or something close to that from the normal 400 Sq Ft limit…

Also, while on a Trailer, the tongue hitch can be removed and the whole thing skirted to make it look more like a foundation built structure. They’re also not meant to be moved very often so you can easily just add additional decks/porches around the entire structure.

Wherever you place them will just have to allow for RV’s and it will depend on local rules as to whether you can live in it full time or not…

I like small homes. I would like it for myself. Can you get a washer/dryer,dishwasher put in these homes. I live with my parents and don’t drive and would put this on our farm property.

How much did it cost and who built it? Really lovely and well done. Thanks for sharing.

If you count from the top, the twelfth picture down shows a full-sized, stacked washer and dryer. I couldn’t tell the brand, but I imagine it’s a set you could easily purchase at, say, Lowe’s.

I could live in this tiny house. Man I really like it. A full size dishwasher, stove, and frig that doesn’t look like it belongs in a Barbie house. Even a full laundry with both washer and dryer. A screened in porch is also mandatory. The only missing item (for me) is a bathtub but the shower is big enough that a tub will easily fit. I love it!

Really like this one! I especially love the enclosed porch with French doors opening into house, , 1st floor queen bedrroom, full size appliances.

What is total sq ft including loft and porch? Approximate cost? Height of loft ceiling? Who built it? I checked google for Alabama cabins, no listing. Plans? I’d need studio space added, love the openness.

    Well done, it’s lovely! Enjoy!

Thanks, everyone, for your nice comments! The cabin cost is $52K. The dimensions are 14×29 for the cabin without the porch. The screened porch is 14×10 and the loft is 14×13. The headway in the loft is 44 in. Our builder can be reached via email at [email protected] with any questions. He has built cabins for folks in many states and he was so easy to work with and did a fantastic job.

Nicely done! I could go spend a week there with my kiddos! I love that the main BR is downstairs and that it has a REAL bathroom, great kitchen, washer/dryer and two TV’s! I would have loved a wood burning fireplace but maybe it’s not suitable for this type of build. Anyway, gorgeous!

I like it too beside the dormers and the loft. Sorry, but I am not a fan of any crawling spaces probably because I’m tall. For me a bed sofa for occasionally guest at the living room will do.
    Otherwise well done.

I like this very much. If I ever have the land I want, I will have to look at this for the perm house there.

WOW!!! That is GREAT! At first I saw the loft and thought it wouldn’t work for me, but then I saw the bedroom with attached bathroom with no stairs and it is PERFECT. I love the design with the open concept. What a fabulous little house for a grandma like me. Now I can love the loft which will be a great place for the kids to sleep when they come visit me. I love this design. Thanks for showing it.

Nice! I’d love to live in that!! Bigger than the apartment I’ve lived in for almost 8 years, so it wouldn’t seem like a tiny home to me at all.

Hi, Susie. You indicated that the cabin cost $52000. Does that include the porch and your upgrades? Thanks.

Can you tell me how tall and wide this is?

    • James D.
      April 28, 2023, 10:47 am

Height isn’t listed but it should be around the standard 13′ 6″. While the floor plan on their website indicates this is 13′ 8″ wide, length is 29′ 4″, and porch adds another 10′ to make it 39′ 4″… It’s the Keylsey Cottage model, if you look it up on their website.
