Very nicely done warm inviting and cozy pictures. Thing is , It’s all bed!! with a kitchenette. there is no table to sit and eat meals on, or use as a computer work space.. . no dresser or closet space for clothes and other personal things to store..or space to put any of the mentioned things..

Yep, you’re right. I would have added a murphy bed to save all that space!

That was my thought also… a great little space but missing a couple of important things. If it’s just for one person, then a single bed dressed up as a ‘day bed’ would provide a type of sofa and also space for other stuff too. Otherwise, very nice.

I have heard of bed jack devices that raise the bed to the ceiling to free up space during the day; which sounds appealing. Personally, I like futons for day/night functionality.

I finally found a tiny house that fits my style perfectly. I have the one car garage but I’m unable to find a carpenter that will attempt the job. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Too bad no one can live in it, now that it is Air BnB’d.
The movement is about Tiny Living, not tiny visiting.

Some Airbnbs can be rented for long-term stays, particularly if you ask. So these can be great for folks who aren’t ready to purchase yet. — Tiny House Talk Team

A ‘long stay’ still is not living in a place. Air BnB is taking units off the market as people are investing in properties & units strictly to rent short term. It’s driving up rents. What started as a nice idea – share your house or apartment while you’re away for the summer or whatever – and has become another abused system.

That doesn’t make sense. More units available would drive rent prices down.

          Tom-
Why do people keep repeating that? We have FOR LEASE signs and vacant storefronts all over Berkeley & the SF Bay Area which is supposedly having a housing shortage. There are sign-spinners on the corners attracting people to the open houses in the “luxury” (i.e., overpriced, ordinary sheetrock bunny warrens.) What we actually have a shortage of housing affordable to the majority of workers including many tech workers, as well as retail, repair people, teachers, maintenance workers. So many of these $2500-for-a-one-bedroom apartments are empty or empty much of the time. What we have is money laundering using real estate. Real estate pimping. Housing kept off the market for short term rentals. We need land reform in the US now.

These are great and I have even thought about doing this long ago, way before the Tiny House Movement was ever thought of…. I wanted to do this with my grandmothers garage, and pay her rent for it when I was still in school getting my degree. Anything was better then paying the high prices that were being asked for rent at the time…..

It must be a small garage, normally, everything shown would fit properly in a regular 22×10 garage.

Eh, heh! At least this one was an improvement of the one before. I most certainly would put in a murphy bed, too crowded for a TH. But a great idea of a temporary home for college students.
