Emmanuelle sent me a message letting me know that she has a new tiny house for sale in NY.

It’s a 120-square-foot space built on a 16′ flatbed utility trailer.

The framing in the house is reinforced with hurricane straps so it’s built strong enough to be towed.

It’s a tiny house shell ready to be delivered to you and then you can have the inside and any other customizations done yourself.

This one does not come with loft space installed but there is 4′ of space for that if you wanted to do it..

Optionally you can build a murphy bed using this kit on Amazon along with the plans.

The Tiny House is, in fact, $13,999 not $19,000!

It looks really good. Everything looks square and neat.

Windows are always tricky, it doesn’t matter what type or size building. On Tiny houses we need tiny windows. If you are building a huge 5000 sf home you need huge windows.

On my 34′ tiny home, I used 18″ & 24″ wide single hung windows, the tallest was 48″ and the shortest is 30″ in height. I even have a few windows that are only 12″ square just as an accent.

Large windows on a tiny house have the affect of making the house look smaller, in general. I’ve seen the opposite happen on huge homes with windows that are too small. It in turn makes the house look too BIG, over bearing, cold and impersonal.

Aside from windows, other visual building trim needs to be in close scale to the home:
Cedar siding should not have much more than a 3″ to 4″ exposure.
Cedar trim, such as corner boards, should not be much more than 4″ in width.
vynil siding should be triple 3″.
Window shutters need to be the thinner model. Not wider than 8″.
Door lights should be as small as can be had. A standard 120 volt exterior lantern is often too big for a tiny house.
